prayer bonuses

when you wear an item that adds bonuses to prayer (shade robe, monks robe, etc) what does it do? does it make the prayer points get used up slower? does it make prayers more effective?

also if it makes prayers more effective does it make a difference to prayers like superhuman strength where it boosts it up by a certain %?

As far as i know it slows down the drainage of your prayer points.

Would be nice if it added the effect of stat increasing prayers though :)

Depends what you're going to, but the difference is noticable.

I'd go with monks robe if i was protting but if normal fighting and just boosting stats then iron plate or if i needed mage bonus then mage robe.

I'm going to be murdered brutally for posting this link, but it's very useful.

RHQ has a prayer drain rate calculator. Just type in your prayer level and what your prayer bonus is and it'll tell you how fast you're prayer points will drain.

Clickeh Here

Very useful. But you have to click on a prayer on the calc to find out.

For example, with my prayer level of 58 and a bonus of about 20, using protect from melee I will use one point of prayer every five seconds and I'll use up all my prayer in about 4.83 minutes.

We don't rebel to sell it just suits us well, we're the bright young things.
