Battlestaff of Fire

Featured Replies

Someone help a noob out here please.

I got one of these last night.

The guide says I can have it enchanted by a guy in Catherby for 40,000gp to make it a Mystic Staff - "one of the best magical items in the game" - so it says.

I can find what the battle staff does - basically like a Staff of Fire but also a weapon equal to a Rune Long Sword - but cannot find anything about what this Enchanted Mystic Staff does.

Any ideas

TIA

I don't think a battle staff hurts as much as a rune long sword, thats the mystic staff.

So it is 40k to make the battlestaff work as a Rune Longsword - yes???

Have people done this? - Is it worth it?

Thanks again.

yeah i did it on 4 fire staffs, and I wish that I had that 160k back. You can get it enchanted by thormac the sorceror south of camelot once you have completed the scorpion catcher quest.

But as there are better weapons out there, it is not really worth getting it enchanted as you are most likely going to be using your staff for magic, and therefore the strength bonus is not necessary. You are more likely to be training melee with a d long, rune scimmy, d baxe etc, so it is really not worth it.

Best Barrows Chest: guth skirt, dh helm, dh axe, racks, gp (23/08/06); best tt reward: robin, guthix helm, guthix legs, nats, rune legs

Doesn't the strength bonus also apply to magic?
