You could also try out the skeleton mine, like 32 coal. But just take your pick so if some stupid pker comes along you wont lose anything. Also the lumbridge swamp is a good place.

Why do you want to powermine coal? For powermining, you would usually want an ore that you can reliably get in a set ammount of time--always one hit for iron. If you are trying to powermine coal, you'd need to be able to get each coal in no more than 5/3rds the time it takes you to get an iron, otherwise, you are getting less xp per hour than you get from iron. Additionally, you only need 3 iron rocks to keep you busy while powermining iron. If you want to powermine coal, you need 4 or 5 or maybe more to keep up a constant cycle of mining. If you have some secrets to powermining coal, please tell me, because it would be news to me.
