Thoughts?
August 13, 200619 yr I have verizon DSL (1.5mbs) and never had any problems with them. Net Neutrality Act passed so Internet providers can not filter internet traffic anymore. However it could be parental controls on your computer that are blocking downloading or just torrent downloading. You did say you disabled your firewall for a little while so it can't be that blocking the download. Have you tried another torrent client? Bitcoment is a good one. Can you download other torrents? Try a torrent off another site.
August 13, 200619 yr Net neutrality was about ISPs charging companies extra for "priority" connections, so if they didn't pay up, they got throttled over other companies that did pay. It was basically charging a 3rd time for something the user and company had already payed for. User pays to access the content, companies pay for bandwidth to serve the content, and another company in the middle wants a 3rd chunk for extra speed. If it did pass (I havn't seen any news on it :? ), it just means all ISPs have to route packets without looking at who sent it or who it's going to, so they can't throttle specific companies/users. Verizon on the other hand, might be throttling the entire port range/protocal on their own network, in and out, without looking at where it's going or who it came from. It's their pipes, they can throttle is as they see fit to keep it running smoothly. :( Anyway, you can usually get around it by changing your listen port to something outside the 688x range. If that doesn't do it, you could always try calling verizon or looking through their website to see if they intentionally throttle torrents. I opened up the torrent you listed and quickly jumped to well over 250k/s downloading, so the seeds are good. Editted for grammatical junkets I noticed. :anxious:
August 13, 200619 yr and another company in the middle wants a 3rd chunk for extra speed. Not even speed that is above normal, just priority over others. Basically they'd be charging for not downgrading the speed:roll: Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.
