August 16, 200619 yr I was a pure and decided to just go all out melee.im now 92 combat with 83 str.i figure since im training str and i want to level a non CB skill to specialiase in,i want to do slayer and train both.how hard is it to get 85+ slayer? about what speed is it compared to in another skill ie we know which skills take long, and which dont IE woodcutting/firemaking. or just how hard is it?
August 16, 200619 yr It takes long..Even with your lvl.I can know,my lvl is 93 with 80 str and i have yet to achieve 50 slayer. Also why all the 85+slayers are mostly high lvls How many 'scapers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?501 to screw it in and 49 to complain how better it was before. Was signed,Kioh Twan
August 16, 200619 yr its not that hard just takes time and dedication Mostly true but by that definition there is nothing in Runescape that is "hard" except for maybe obtaining a fire cape. But it is definitely a long road. Even the rich can't take too many short cuts though cannoning your way through tasks does speed it up. My current level is about the worst! You hit 1mil xp and realise that you're only about 35% there....
August 16, 200619 yr The besy advice I can give you is forget about slayer (kinda). Set yourself goals of 80+ Attack, Strength, Defense and Range then just train them using slayer. This is what I usually do and my my slayer has risen from 40 to 63 without any effort to train it. 85 will be very hard but if you get 80 in all combat stats using your slayer master, you should have got the level. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!
August 16, 200619 yr yeah, I have hit the dreaded 1mil xp too morden! Bascailly, I always train using slayer, and the combat levels just come from that. I meant to keep my combat below 90, but you can't help it when training slayer. 85 slayer is rock hard to get, and will take you a long time. Good luck! August 16, 200619 yr Leveling slayer takes a little longer then it takes to level hp. You get the amount of hitpoints the assigned monster has as slayer xp per kill. Hitpoint xp is actually easier to get since you get 1.333 xp per hitpoint the monster has and you can kill monsters of your choice. I think I started slayer 9 months ago and am 82 now. Sure I don't play as much and level other skills to but if you do slayer only I think it will take you at least 5-7 months to get 85. Haven't played RuneScape since 12 january 2007 and it feels great :)
August 16, 200619 yr For me I wanted to work on my combat skills , so I decided to slay my way there. I figured if I have to kill things to raise these cb skills I might as well slay. Afterall then your working on 4 skills all at once. I used edgeville slayer till level 75 slayer then lost city slayer to my most recent level. I never onced used a cannon took me 4 months to get from slayer level 78 to 85. All I did was slay in those 4 months. Good luck slaying you may even start enjoying it after awhile I know I did still one of my favorite skills to level. \
August 16, 200619 yr Ok first of all a level 3 could do it if he put his mind to it. I was level 84 when i hit 50 slayer and then i stoped to go train other things (herblore). Slayer is an easy skill and makes training combat fun. Fun and Combat you say!? Yes it helped me train alot. Slayer is a break from what most people train at (PC). If u put ur mind to it buy a cannon, full Guthans, and aquire bones to peaches. You can hardcore slayer. Higher slayer leveled people are only higher combat cuz you train when you do slayer. Wow that sounds like a lot coming from a level 50 slayer.
