PumpkinPete112
My fav computer game (Half-Life) wont work now. The disk is in perfect condition, but the game crashes when i play it at the exact same spots. I rana diognostic from Valve and it says that my Norton firewall is up and the severity is very high. I figure this is why i cant play it. Anyone know how to fix this or how to permit it through? Sig
weezcake
Did you change any settings that may have caused it? I remember my friend changed his game to some random resolution and it crashed his game (making him reinstall it 3 times before it worked). ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. username388
You could try downloading the game through Steam. That way you're sure that the disc is in fact in perfect condition.

Stuart_G
Another reason why i hate Norton Anti-Virus and their associated products. Two things you can do here, find the options for the firewall and see if you can find something related to Steam and if its got Steam as a blocked program, unblock it and it should work. The second option is to get rid of Norton Firewall, but unless you can get another program, i suggest against that.
weezcake
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ni ... 1708540036 There. You should be able to unblock steam (and any other programs) by using the method above. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
