August 27, 200619 yr Ok, I'm thinking about buying the Alienware laptop Area-51 m5550. This is the processor: Intel̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî Core̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¾Ãââ Duo Processor T2400 1.86GHz 2MB Cache 667MHz FSB Memory: 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz - 2 x 512MB Hard drive: 80GB Serial ATA 1.5Gb/s 5,400 RPM w/ NCQ & 8MB Cache Graphic/video card: 256MB NVidia̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî GeForce Go 7600 And now the minium system requirements for WoW: Minimum System Requirements Windows̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî System 2000/XP OS: * Intel Pentium̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî III 800 MHz or AMD Athlon 800 MHz * 512 MB or more of RAM * 32 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî GeForce̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¾Ãââ 2 class card or above * DirectX̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers * 6.0 GB available HD space * 4x CD-ROM drive And the recommended: Windows̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî System 2000/XP OS: * Intel Pentium̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî IV 1.5 GHz or AMD XP 1500+ MHz * 1024 MB RAM * 64 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî GeForce̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¾Ãââ FX 5700 class card or above I was wondering, since I have no knowledge of IE: what video card is better than another etc etc, if someone could tell me if the laptop I have chosen could play WoW. Any info would be great, thanks. BTW here is the link for the site: http://alienware.com/product_detail_pag ... KU-DEFAULT Also could you tell me if this laptop could play FPS's? thx
August 27, 200619 yr Yeah, it could easily play WoW. The only problem you may encounter while playing WoW is the laptop overheating. Thats if your ventilation isn't all that great and/or there's a lot of dust in the fan. It can also play FPS games, but you might want to get a usb mouse for that. The touchpads are a pain in the butt.
August 28, 200619 yr You can get better for less. You're paying more for the name than anything else when you buy AlienWare. But if you've got the money to throw around and that's what you want, feel free.
August 28, 200619 yr Author Thank you for your coments both of you. Well I'm glad that its a good laptop. And I think I can throw the money away, its my dad's money ^_^ and the little alien head is sooo cool when it glows.
August 28, 200619 yr I am currently using an Alienware Area 51 5500 laptop.. Personally I don't think all the money spent is worth what you get. The system you built is just a little better than mine so you will be able to play WoW. I've played Shadowbane, EQII, Lineage II, ect. on mine. ~WARNING~ You must have you laptop raised in order to get air to the fan at all times! If you don't you'll overheat your computer and if you're in pvp when it starts to get too hot, you're screwed. You'll lag like hell until your computer reaches it's core shutdown threshold (default set for 105 degrees Celcius). Internet Marketing For Newbies
