hey as im a fairly new member i would like to know about this "Ecto" way of raising prayer? i have no idea at all of what it is other then you do prayer in a certain spot for btter exp and bone ashes etc.

i think that you are talking about the ectofunctus in port phasmatus. it a a ghost town to the east of canifis and varrok. there is a quest that you have to do to access it and it pretty much explains what you have to do at it. i think there is a guide on how to use it in the prayer skill guide on this site too but im not entirely certain.

Basically you grind bones into dust, then you collect buckets of slime. You have to have an equal amount of both in your inventory and you worship at the ectofunctus. Im pretty sure theres a guide on here about it.

Go to skill guides and then prayer guide. Its been updated recently so I even think its still on the homepage.

As I understand it, gives 4x the xp of just burying, but takes longer to do - certainly not worth doing with ordinary bones.

 

 

 

The other way to get higher XP, is to have, or get invited to, a really good POH altar - the gilded altar with two lit burners is only a little short of ectoing (3.5x instead of 4x), and if the house is also equipped with some teleport portals, that cuts the travel time too.

if you complete Ghosts Ahoy quest you will get a Ectophial this is a one click teleport item and will take you straight to the ECTO using it to cut traveling time down at least half ( you fill it where you pray )

 

 

 

i would reccomend using at least dragon bones unless you quite a low lvl at prayer then maybe use big bones to try it out,
