August 31, 200619 yr AS most know there is a spamming problem: Whether this be resurecting old posts, or typing only a smile and posting. I have thought up two suggestions. I have not considered the ease of implementation. THis means that if you (?albosky) think that they would be anightmare to implement, say so. 1. Make it do posts have to be a certain number of characters. I think that the shortest post a person should be able to make is "i agree" Thais would means that the limit should be 7 characters. 2. For all repeated offence spammers, remove their post count or put an eternal 0  -sai

The spammers know that posting smilies is a way round a character limit.
August 31, 200619 yr Author I see your point:  is ten Well is there a wayt o make them 1 char. Also. Increase the minimum to 20 in all non-market posts???
September 3, 200619 yr I'm not sure if that would be a great idea. Yes, it would limit the amount of spam, but what about the times when someone is just posting an offer in the Market? Would they have to somehow add enough characters each time? And Bumps? Would we have to say "Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump"? For all repeated offence spammers, remove their post count or put an eternal 0  1) Been suggested, many, many times. It just straight up doesn't work. You can set the minimum character count to 500 or more and spammers will just add a mix of characters and spaces to the end of their post to get around. It also isn't very hard to get around any checks that look for just repeated characters too. 2) More work for the already overworked admins. Removing post count entirly would have fixed that already, but most Tip.It users are too number loving to part with it.
