I got a problem in prayer skill

I got Monk's robes and a mithril mace, when i put them on i get a bonus of prayer but when I bury a bone it give me 4 xp (the same as when I bury the bone withour the monk's robes and the mace) can anyone say me why are the prayer bonus used for or is this is an error????

bonuses have nothing to do with the xp you get, for example, no matter what your attack bonus is, you will always get 4xp per damage for attack.

 

 

 

The prayer bonuses slow prayer drain.
