September 10, 200619 yr Is it possible to trade across a river, roughly 3-4 blocks wide? Don't believe so, used to be possible and people in catherby would trade their food to people on the island for d bones. Now, players who try to trade will move next to the other person, so I think you'll have to be able to stand on an adjacent square. Not sure about trading through fences though-haven't tried.
