nightshade53
Hi, I just started back at sixth form, and I have been told by my teacher that I have to complete a practical project for one of my modules. I need to design a real solution for a real user, and I need to find a user with a problem that I might be able to solve for them. It needs to be a data handling problem. If anyone could help me get in touch with a "User" then I would be extremely grateful! :) This is an extract from here ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃââIs there a user whose needs can be investigated and taken into account when designing the solution? ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Does it conform to the specification requirements i.e. will the finished product be a tailored solution which allows interaction between the user and the computer system with input, storage and manipulation of data and output of results? ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Is it of Advanced Level standard? ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Is it within the capability of the candidate to complete in a reasonable time? ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Are the necessary facilities readily available to the candidate? ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Is it a subject the candidate has knowledge of/interest in? BTW, I wasn't sure to where to post this but I decided on here, although I thought maybe the off-topic advertising sticky may have been more appropriate. Thanks,
Anesthesia
You need to be able to talk to the user and interact with them, so realistically you'll have to just go round the shops in your town. I made mine up when I had to do it, mine was for a solicitors firm. Practically speaking there is no way for the examiner/teacher to know that it isn't for a real person. I did mine with WJEC, not AQA. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

Anesthesia
Haha, unlucky. It is stupid considering not even 10% of the projects will actually be used. Good places to look are simple shops that sell products (not services) and libraries. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.
