September 12, 200619 yr Is it a good idea to train with a whip by using the controlled fighting option? Or would it be better to train just defence and attack with whip and then train strength with another weapon? Also, if you could, tell me the best weapons for training the combat skills if I am not right. Thanks :D
September 12, 200619 yr It depends on what you want to do. I use whip for att or str and d scimmy for str Geaux Tigers ! Congrats on a great year !
September 12, 200619 yr Author Well, in general, is training with the controlled option if you want all of your skills up, or would it be better to do each skill individually?
September 13, 200619 yr I'd do each skill individually because doing all of them at once will take 3 times as long. You will get bored of the Controlled option FAST. I'd reccommend using the Dragon Scimitar for Strength and Whip for Attack and Defense. :-k
September 13, 200619 yr i guess you could use controlled to level up faster in terms of combat since your raising 3 levels but once i got my attack & def to 70 i sold my whip so i could get my strength up lost rights to my dark red text >:( 12/20/06 - QUEST CAPE OF ACHIEVEMENTBarrows sets: guthan, verac, dharok, maybe ahrim eventually <- lost to a hacker whole stole everything of worth from my bank
September 13, 200619 yr i'd do it individually and not controlled. Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)
September 13, 200619 yr A VERY small advantage in seperate levelling, since with all XP to one combar stat, you gain a level, then have the advantage given by it while persuing other levels. It is very, very minor, and overshadowed by the weapon effectiveness - if controlled whip does damage faster than the alternative, then controlled whip will ulimately gain levels faster.
September 13, 200619 yr In short it really depends on how you want to manage your combat stats. If you want them all the same level then use controlled and have the added incentive that when you (finally) get one level you'll get 3/4 all at once and probably a cb lvl as well.. A lot of people prefer to have some stats higher than others (either for pk'ing, staking or just more efficient training) if you want to do that you'll have to train them separately. Other than the small advantage outlined by doomster above there's really not much difference in speed. Although the whip will theoretically give more damage and thus more xp per hour, because you're splitting the xp 3 ways the advantage is not so noticeable as it takes you longer to level all 3 skills than just one - psychologically therefore it feels slower!
