Runescape skills and total lvl top

Featured Replies

Why not have a monthly/weekly top users by skill and total levl published somewhere in runescape..? for example in Lumberidge castle outside the main door, just to see who is the best or the best 100??

Belongs in suggestion forums... and yes, this is a pretty decent idea.

Because it'd encourage people to play 20/7 just to get on there :o lol :P

Or a better Idea that I've seen in other games. Type a command in and it shows you the list of the people in the area in their level.

I like the idea in general of some sort of time-bound high score list. For example, in addition to the overall high scores, I'd be really interested to compare myself to people who started playing in the same month as me, rather than those who've been playing for years.

But, I'm not convinced that weekly high scores is a good idea or would work... I'll try and explain why:

If you did it on total level would you expect people who gained the most levels to be in the top 100 list? If so it's pretty easy to get 300+ levels in a week if it means getting lvl 15 in all stats on a new account. Getting 3 levels in a week is a major achievement if you're already 75+ in each skill.

It *might* work if you did it on xp gained per week (by skill or total) but that lends itself to the reverse of the above situation - it's easier to get more xp at higher levels (e.g. cook sharks, craft glories etc.) than it is at lower levels (cook shrimp, craft bowstrings etc.)

It would be nice to see this released with the suspected level cap rise.

couldnt u go to the highscores if you cared so much? Anyway the hiscore ppl are on there by a wide margin so it wouldnt necessarily change all the time would it? :-s

to see levl of people around you with skills seems to much, could imagine in a busy day in a bank??, I think to see skill is important..as for example there are skills like herblore which are not trained very much; the point is at some point you have to train on everything, else you could not do the hardest quest!!

that is way sometimes I see people with 85 combact levl and I ask myself? woodcut? fishing?

is a sort of saying okay I am low at combat but high in hern agility prayer etc? is it better? which skill should I train first?

I think its a great idea. If it only showed the rank of people on your friends list i think it would be good. If it showed more information than just total lvl stat lvls and exp. Like exp gained since you last checked the board, average exp gain per week, and exp difference in each skill. Im kind of competing with a friend of mine for rank 1 on my friends list. Showing these things would help me know what skills i need to catch him in, what skills he trained this week and at what rate im catching him.
