Help me improve?

I only have microsoft paint and i usually sometimes find myself rushing. I dont have the best of colours, but i was wondering if anyone could give me some tips? these are 3 drawings of my 3 main outfits:

 

 

the first one is meant to be rune armour,

 

second one is like zammy robes and red wizard hat

 

third is vyrewatch

 

(all the ammys are glory)

 

any pointers? i made my sig using these.

First off, i'd say that these look loosly traced. Especialy the mage and the warrior, they look nearly identical to their in game counterparts.

 

 

 

My sugestion is to develop your own style. If you look around on these boards here you will see that the pixel artists all seem to have a different style.

 

 

 

You have the basic ideas, you just need to expand them into your ideas, and not just carbon copies of the game.

 

 

 

Also, try not to rush. This is the worst problem I have when working on something, I hate to leave something in the middle of working on it. Because of this I find my self ( a lot of times) just hurrying up on those small details that i need to do to make the sig nicer. Don't be in a rush to post something, but instead work on it until you feel that you have finished.

 

 

 

however, don't overwork it. That's mostly the problem I had when I drew a lot back in 7th and 8th grade. I'd finish an image and shade it a bit and it would look pretty nice. But then i'd get boored (drew mostly in school) and i'd start adding stuff to it, and before I knew it I had screwed up what I wanted. However, thank god for computers and you can at least keep a backup copy if you want to try something new, or different.

 

 

 

as a final note, i'd recomend checking out http://www.spriteart.com . While it mostly pertains to sprite art in paticular in some of the tutorials it has many, many good pixeling tutorials. Techiniques such as AA, dithering and even getting a good circle pixeled are all something you should learn.
