Cbkviper
I've been playing guitar for about a year and a half now, usually practicing about 30-60 minutes on weekdays to an hour to 2 or even 3 on weekends. Lately I've been looking for a song with switching about 6+ different chords, and I'm out of ideas. If you have any, PM me please.
kelem_ryu
I've mastered the basic 9 chords, changing between them reasonably fast - although that F Major is a tough cookie. Yesterday I spent a long time learning the bassline to Muse - Hysteria and now I can play it at almost 2/3 the speed. I've recently started to learn Barre and Power chords, can anyone give me tips for changing quickly between those? Because I'm finding it very hard to get my fingers into position (particularly stretching my third and fourth fingers across a fret during a power chord). ~Ian Give it time. Eventually you'll wonder how this could have been a problem. Also about stopping playing with blisters: Since i play lots for a time and then stop for a while i often get blisters, especially when i haven't played for a while and have a long jam session playing bass. (I play it fingered, so index and middle finger are guaranteed to have blisters after one or two hours.) Eventually you can't play anymore anyway. The people who permanently damage their hands are usually those EXTREME freaks. The common player won't be maniac enough to strain his fingers that hard. As mentioned before sometimes i play more, sometimes less. Over the last year i rarely played at all. (Instead i mostly played a computer game called "Runescape") Recently i picked up my guitar again and played more often. I stopped practicing once i was able to play basic accords and barret major and minor on E and A strings. As you can imagine i'm not a great player for that reason. Then again i don't care about that, because i enjoy singing most of all and when it overcomes me i sing for hours until my troat gets sour (wich is enhanced due to my smoking habit :? ) Bottom line is: It really doesn't matter how much you practice. You can't force it, because if you do you won't make any progress anyway. Imo making music is much more rewarding then playing rs though. When my energy lvl is low i do stuff like playing computer. When it is high i do stuff like making music.
