September 23, 200619 yr A lot of GB are taken on my computer, and I honestly don't know where they went. Is there a program or something (free, hopefully) that can show me what exactly is taking up what amount of space? If you need anymore information, please let me know. Thanks. ( :
September 23, 200619 yr did you install anything new since you had a good amount of space? if you didn't that might mean that it's reporting the free space wrong click start>run and type chkdsk c: /f and that might fix it if it's not, use a program called ccleaner to clean out some stuff also try the disk cleanup utility at start>all programs>accessories>system tools if that doesn't work then look at which programs you don't use anymore and uninstall them. and finally, if all that doesn't work then go and see what kinds of useless files you can delete, but you have to be careful not to delete anything important pwned
September 23, 200619 yr cleanup utility works well (see above for use instructions). But, after the program does its "initial" scan, and another window pops up with a list of items with check boxes beside them, make sure that all the items are checked, unless you have a serious reason not to delete those files \

Each file or folder on a given drive is displayed in a box in the main window whose size is a relative comparison to all the other files in your system. So, for example, if the "Windows" box takes up 90% of the screen, the "C:\Windows" folder and all its sub-folders and files are taking up 90% of your "C:" drive.

That is, like, exactly what I was looking for, thank you! :) And thanks for the other replies.
