How long does it take to format windows?

 

Im talking put windows xp cd in - format - have a fully running computer again

Running a quick format will wipe the drive in about 15 - 20 seconds max.

 

 

 

Installing Windows XP on the other hand can take up to 2 hours on a really slow PC. Not to mention installing drivers and software afterwards. If you're doing it for your first time, I'd set aside up to a maximum of 5 hours.

 

 

 

And before anyone gets on at me for saying to quick format, yes I know it doesn't remove the information from the drive. Yes I know that it just says to the computer you can write data here and no it won't harm the hardrive.
