Metroid
First create a new document 200x200 pixels. Color the blackground black (set the foreground color to black and hit Alt+Delete). Create a new layer now. (AND NAME IT "Lines 1") Now reset your brushes, and select a 3px hard round brush (the first set of brushes, 3px). Set the foreground color to 717171, and brush down the middle (holding shift while brushing to keep the line straight). You should now have something simular to this: Duplicate the layer you just brushed the line on. (NAME THIS DUPLICATED LAYER "Lines 2") And go to Filter>Distort>Shear, and use these settings: Now select "Lines 1" (The layer) And go to filter>Distort>Shear, and use these settings: Now right click on "Lines 1" (The layer) and select "Blending Options" and use these settings: Do the EXACT same for "Lines 2". (You know what I mean by now... =P) Ok, now it gets a bit complicated. First duplicate the "Lines 1" and drag it to the top of the layer list. Now duplicate "Lines 2" and leave it where it's at. Now drag "Lines 1" to the top. Now our layers are in the right place and everything should display right, here is what you should have in your layers panel. Now, select "Lines 1 Copy" then hold Ctrl on the keyboard and select "Lines 2 Copy". You can let go of Ctrl now.. =P Now select the Marquee tool. Now put your mouse in the middle of the image. Hold Ctrl and move your mouse to the left until you get something like this: Tip: If your layer locks itself to a part of the image, try zooming in, then moving the layers until you can get the second lines right beside the first lines. (Lines 1, and Lines 2) It's optional, but I think it looks good if you add a drop shadow to Lines 1 Copy, and Lines 1. Almost done! Now all we need to do is add the barbs. Make a new layer and name it "Barbs 1". Select your brush tool and select a 7 px soft round brush (the second set of brushes are soft round). Draw a line across the middle of the image, a little less wide than the line below. (Mine is a bit too wide) Now right click on the "Barbs 1" Layer and select "Blending Options" check bevel and emboss and use these settings. Make a new layer, name it "Barbs 2". Draw a line above your first one like so: Now right click on that layer, select blending options, and use the exact same settings as last time. Make another layer, name it "Barbs 3", draw a line at the bottom like so: Now right click on that layer, select blending options, and use the same settings as last time. You should now have something simular to this: Select the "Barbs 3" Layer, now select the Polygonal Lasso Tool (Right under the Marquee tool, right click and you'll see it.) Zoom in, and make a selection with it like this: Now hit the Delete key. Select the layer "Barbs 2" and make a selection with the pollygonal lasso tool like so: Now to make it look more.. barbwire-ish xD we will do this: Make a new layer (Name it "Full Image"), drag it to the top of the layer list. ~!NOW THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!~ GO TO THE BOTTOM LAYER (Layer 1) AND CLICK THE EYE TO THE LEFT OF THE NAME. This will make the layer invisible. I won't go into detail why this is important. But if you know alot about Photoshop you'll know why. Anyway. Select the top layer ("Full Image") and go to Image>Apply Image>Then click OK on the window. Now go to the Layer name "Layer 1". And turn the eye on again. Then turn the eye off for EVERY layer except the "Layer 1" of course =P, and the "Full Image" Layer. Anyway, re-select the "Full Image" Layer and go to Filter>Noise>Add Noise, and use these settings: Now you're done! You can rotate the image by going to Edit>Transform>Rotate 90* CW Now you can add blood to make a cool effect. You can also add barbs to the end of each wire joining. Here is my result after adding blood, and a bit of lighting effects: ---- Sorry this tutorial was so complicated, but it's the best I could explain it because barbed wires are pretty complicated to make, and even more to explain. Pink
Pretty neat... I think it would be cooler if you actually made an entire fence so everybody could see a big thing.
Metroid
That'd be pretty hard to do, unless it was 2d. I don't feel like messing with this anymore tbh.. been working on this tut for 3 hours. Protect the Light...
