i know its not gonna be anything great, just wondering where i stand as a ..."Terragenerator" :o

Its pretty good, altho I have never really used terragen so I wouldn't know. The text really needs work.

yeah the text was done in paint

if anyone would like to volunteer to add some nice ps text it would be greatly appreciated.

The snow texture could be a little better.

Also, landscapes don't generally go into water that abruptly. Generating a terrain in Terragen normally results with that kind of landscape. Experiment more with the options and tools to get more realistic looking landscapes.

And yes, it needs a better font and color.

Not bad; I like the lighting.

However, I do have a few pointers.

- Reduce the reflection on the water. It's a little much.

- The snow texture could use some work, so add some more detail. I'll PM you on how to do that.

- Get rid of the steep drop off into the water. Remember that the shore should be smoother because of erosion.

I'll also be glad to help you with the text if you'd like.

On a different note, I'd have to say that I'm quite pleased (and equally worried) to see so many "First Terragen Sig" threads and less pixel. It's a good thing that people are taking interest in something else finally, but I'm worried that we'll have a bunh of people filling the boards with crapy landscapes instead of crapy pixels. That wasn't aimed at anyone, I'm just worried that it could happen. However, I'd still be very grateful to see the pixel trend end. Anyways, I'm just rambling now. Time to write that PM.
