November 24, 200619 yr Ok, a while ago I got my new computer. Well, I'm going to get my neighbor to fix it tomorrow, because there's a problem with it. Yesterday evening, I went to get something, came back, and my computer was off, so i figured a plug fell out. I tried re-connecting everything and turning it back on, nothing happened. I switched the back switch and tried both ways. Every once and a while when I try to turn it on, the lights flash on and off. I left it unplugged the whole night, and tried a few minutes ago to see if it would work again. I don't know what's wrong with it. Maybe something fried? My friend said it could be because I manually turned it off. (I had to restart it by pressing the restart button every time I exit half life 2, because my computer freezes every single time I exit it.) So basically, the thing won't turn on. Sometimes when I try the lights flash on and off. If anyone knows anything or can help me, please reply. I'm not certain anyone will know the problem, but...yeah. K
November 24, 200619 yr Could be a lot of things - if the lights are flashing only occasionally its probably either bad wiring, the mobo is junked, or the PSU is dying. I would guess the latter, but don't go monkeying around with the power supply because it's a good way to get electrocuted. ...
November 25, 200619 yr It could be bad ram. That'd be good seeing as ram is usually insured for life by reputable ram sellers. I'm not sure how to tell though which it would be. It'd be hard without going to your computer.
November 25, 200619 yr one of my computers had a similar problem where it wouldn't turn on but the internal lights were on. i got a new power supply and that fixed everything.
