Mechwariorx
I have looked at both, and I can't decide which is better for me. Also, I do not PK, this would be used for training or killing monsters. If I decide on Karil's I will most likely not buy the crossbow or coif, I will most likely use a Crystal Bow and Archer Helm/Robin Hood. Which is the best option for me to choose? aglips
If I'm not mistaken, both give the same bonus. I have full karil's but I use black dhide for training so I don't have to spend on repairing the karil's armor. I wear full karil's at CW or fight pits. Mechwariorx
Ah, I should have posted this Black Dragonhide top and bottom has a... +13 Stab Defence +10 Slash Defence +15 Stab Defence -24 Magic Defence -4 Ranged Defence difference than Karil's top and bottom. So Karil's has more magic and range defence and Black Dragonhides has more melee defence. Xbox 360>Wii>PS3
aglips
So black d hide has better defense against melee based attacks but who wears range armor to fight melee based attacks. What's the mage defense bonus and bonus for range itself?
Mechwariorx
Mage defence bonus is 24 higher for Karil's, and the range attack bonuses are the same. Xbox 360>Wii>PS3
aglips
the range attack bonuses are the same. This is what I meant when I said they have the same bonus. So when I train range I use black d hide since attack bonus is the same and I'm standing in a safe spot where the monsters can't hit me. Saves a lot of money on repairs in the long run. Mechwariorx
So you are saying if I am not going to do any pvp then I should choose Black Dragonhide? Xbox 360>Wii>PS3
aglips
yes.
Mechwariorx
Ok, thanks. Anyone else? Xbox 360>Wii>PS3
Lord_Gromit
For training, use black d'hide. It gives the exact same ranged attack bonus as karils, and nothing else matters, except that you don't need to repair black d'hide. I would recommend only using karils for pking, castle wars, possibly fight pits, and of course barrows. For everything else, use black d'hide. Mechwariorx
KK, I don't do any of those, so it looks like Black Dragonhide for me. Xbox 360>Wii>PS3
anonymouse_
I think karils gives a little more range att than hides, but that is really negligible. I'd definitely stick to hides, and maybe buy an archer ring (not that you will notice a difference though...)
Lord_Gromit
I think karils gives a little more range att than hides It doesn't.
