Does anyone here use Swift Switch and is it allowed by jagex?

I'm pretty sure it's not a virus, but I heard when using Swift browse it tries to download ads containing viruses and trojans.

Anyone have any advice? :ohnoes:

After a long debate, Jagex do accept people using (SS), and don't ban people for using it to their advantage. I don't use it myself because I still think Jagex will one day change their ruling and kill everyone that's ever looked at SS, and to be honest I don't really need it, I'm fine with the current set-up.

Tip.it don't like you talking about it, but the last time I checked a mod said it was okay to discuss it since Jagex accepted it.

We do not recommend players use 3rd party clients of any sort. Doing so is often unsafe, and there have been many cases of such programs containing keyloggers which steal your password, so we strongly recommend you only use the Windows client available on our homepage under the extra files section or by clicking, here. This is clearly stated on our website.

Our Terms & Conditions state "You must not attempt to use other programs in conjunction with RuneScape to give yourself an unfair advantage."

Some third party clients do not violate the terms and conditions, in that they do not give you an unfair advantage over other players in-game. As such, using them does not violate RuneScape's terms and conditions, and will not end up in a ban.

However, the slight speed advantage that a player might get from saving 20 seconds when switching worlds pales to what you could lose by using a third party client: all your stuff from a hacker.

Some will argue that certain well-established third party clients pose no risk. There is always a risk with unaccountable, anonymous people on the internet writing a free program that has the capability of taking your RS username and password.

The benefit? Negligible, you can switch worlds faster. The risk? Losing all the tradable stuff in your bank.

It boggles my mind that people would ever weigh those risks/rewards and still end up using a 3rd party client.

(1) The original anonymous, unaccountable author could always build a hack later on down the road, once tens of thousands are using the 3rd party client;

(2) as the quality control involved in the 3rd party client is unknown, some fourth party could hack the 3rd party client software (unlike Runescape, who has quality control people and a vested financial interest in keeping your account details safe and secure)

(3) delivery of the 3rd party client can be corrupted, and include malicious software alongside the 3rd party client installation.

Tip.It Forum Rules[/url]":1qbos48r]SECTION 1 - TIP.IT RULES - Grounds For Content Removal, Warning, Suspension Or Permanent Ban

Forum rule violation may result in actions being taken that can include content edits, written warnings as well as temporary suspension and permanent ban depending on the severity and frequency of the offense. Attempting to bypass a ban by accessing the forums with another account will result in a permanent, immediate ban.

1.1 - Breaking or encouraging others to break any of Jagex̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s rules

Violating Jagex's official RuneScape Rules on this forum is cause for being permanently banned from the Tip.it forums. This includes but is not limited to posting tips/pictures on how to cheat, trying to scam someone on the board, and trying to have someone click a link that is infected with keyloggers/trojans. Private server pictures and posts about third-party clients are forbidden. This includes discussions about using a third-party client, images of a third-party client being used, and posting links to websites containing third-party client software.
