December 7, 200619 yr I got the "new" rock golem (lvl 159) today and realised that he became very weak, melee and ranged. I always wear clothes like ghostly robes when i mine and is holding a god book (+5 prayer bonus) Evidence: Before the update: When it appears, before i get to run after the random, it usually hits me hard 80% of the time. When i fight it, it gets me down quickly to 20+ hp in 6-7 hits and i had to resort to prayer. After i kill it, my prayer would likely to be around single digits or practically near depletion. After the update: When it appears, it did a first strike on me. 0 damage. I start fighting it using my trusty pick. I was hitting well but the golem isn't. It hit alot of 0s on me, occasional 1s but never exceeded 4s. I managed to kill it easily, only shedding 9 hp without using prayer. Conclusion: Based on the evidence of before and after, it became obvious that the rock golem has become very weak, ALOT more weaker. Hence what i wanted to know... Did Jagex screw up on the stats of the golem? :-s Lastly, since rock golems are so easy now, free piks FTW 8-) Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
December 8, 200619 yr I don't think one golem will "prove" anything. I mean sometimes I can kill a golem (159) without any armour and rune pick, that was before the update. When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.All skills 80+

That's not the case, i gotten 5-8 golems so far already and everyone of them is the same, never hitting more than 4, even melee. If he spawns diagonally from you, he will start with using ranged, though it seems like he's using melee. To make things annoying, i have to run much further off before he stops pursuing me . As regard to your theory about your ability to kill him before the update w/o armour, i find it really weird :-s . I've been mining all the time before even the update and have gotten lots of golems. Most of them quickly land a 10+ on me before my escape and sometimes got away with a lucky 0. Without armor, he should hit you very hard and quickly gets your hp down to 20+ in 6-7 hits. December 9, 200619 yr Well, I'm not surpriced, I think the reason of why rock golems have become weak is because they rarily drop mithril or better ore, and these 2 top pickaxes. I think that's the reason they became weak. This is what I think, I might be wrong though. But the lack exp rule still applies, right?

From my point of view, i assume jagex probably screwed up rock golem while adding in the ranged attack :-$ However you are right to some extent. I never gotten anything better than a mith ore from him and never ever gotten pickaxes from him.
