How effective is the dwarf cannon for raising range xp? Is it worth the money?

Very effective if used in the right places (i.e. multi-attack). Yes it's probably worth the money if you have a lot! Cannonballs aren't cheap and you burn through them very quickly if you're in a decent location.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Downside is that you don't get HP xp from the cannon.

The cannon is awesome at dags, but very expensive and annoying, as it does break often.

use aswell as arrows/knives/darts to increase xp further

If you can afford the ammo or stand to make it, it is the fastest xp in the game for range. The cannon will not "break" if you pick it up every 300 shots or so.

I have to disagree.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is fun to see those 30's coming out of your cannon, and thinking "Sweet! All that ranged exp!"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BUT, cannons don't give full ranged exp. If you hit a 10 with a normal ranged weapon (like a bow), you get 40 ranged exp for that hit. But with a cannon, you only get 10. That's only 1/4 the ranged exp.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I do not recommend using cannons for range exp. The way I see it, they are best reserved for slayer assignments.
