  1. Here's the most amazing thing for me: The #1 F2Per in the game (Syzygy) has EXACTLY the same skill total (1481) as the #1 pure skiller in the game (Zzzamorak). I kid you not. Go look it up. Do they do that on purpose? Purple gloves can only be acquired on P2P, but they can be traded and worn in F2P.
  2. My goal was to quit RS this summer, and I'm proud to say I managed to accomplish just that. I haven't signed on to my main since May, and have gotten on one of my pures maybe twice (to see the interface updates). I still go to the RS front page and read about the updates, and I still (obviously) check the forums sometimes. But actually pouring hours of my life into the game? Not any more. Quitting was, by far, harder than any of my lvl accomplishments.
  3. A normal price for unids above ranarr is 2k apiece. Some people will take 1.5k and some will demand 2.3k. But 2k each is a pretty easy thing to calculate. The easiest thing for a herblorsit to sell is super sets, which people only want in (3). It's not hard to sell super sets for 10k each. (That's 3 herbs at 2k each = 6k. Grow the whiteberries yourself, buy limpwurt roots for about 750 each in bulk = 6750. Buy vials in bulk for about 150 = 7100. Buy newt eyes at the shop for 3gp ea = 7103gp. So you've spent 7103 on each super set and you sell for 10k. That's about a 40% profit!) People like prayer pots and super restores in (4). You can do the math yourself there. Ranged pots and mage pots aren't that popular, and some people like them in (4) while others like (3). Whatever you can sell. BUT I SHOULD REITERATE: I didn't intend this to be a moneymaking guide. (It's got some problems as a moneymaker; like the fact that you need a pretty big bankroll before you get started.) It's just meant to be a guide to an important method of acquiring herbs.
  4. Yeah, I actually had the whole system completely figured out by myself, and was very proud of my accomplishment. And then I found out that a f mod had already given out my little secret just a few months before I figured it out. But I think enough people don't know about it that a guide is still a good idea. And you've gotta admit: it's a lot easier to understand with pictures.
  5. Instead of using a special program to make screenshots, why don't you just use windows and paint? There's a detailed guide at the top of this forum on how to do it. EDIT: And in case you're too lazy to go find the link yourself, here it is: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=516151
  6. Hi Diablo2iskol. Welcome to the tip.it forums. Just so you know, bumping is frowned upon here. Especially when your post is still within the first ten posts on the page. You shouldn't bump unless your post is way off the first page and you really need an answer. But back on topic, are you f2p or p2p?
  7. The cannon doesn't degrade based on the number of shots it fires. It degrades based on time. If you set up the cannon and don't fire a single shot, it'll still degrade after 10 minutes or so. The number of shots you get before it degrades depends entirely on how many shots you can get per minute. At someplace like dagganoths, you can get maybe 600 shots before it degrades. At someplace like, I dunno, fire giants, you'll get perhaps 100 shots. Of course it won't degrade at all if you simply pick the cannon up and reset it occasionally.
  8. Thanks for the endorsement. And for the record, your herby guide is pretty neat. :)
  9. I'm not a member at the moment, so I can't test it, but according to the KB, sara brews can't be made into mixes.
  10. 12,942,710 exp. If you're talking significant figures, it's basically the same as getting a skill from 1 to 99. First get it up to the mid 80s - then come asking how much longer you've got to go. :P
  11. It looks like a regular teleport (purple shrinking bubble) except that there's a little white "swoosh" that shoots through it.
  12. There is a threshold of how many items it takes to be a practicable concern in the market place. If there are only three p-hats left, there are essentially zero, because of the magnitude of scale. (Imagine: three dudes with p-hats who play for 2 hours a day. And 50,000 players who want p-hats, playing for 5 hours a day (250,000 to 6 ratio). How much opportunity is there for any "economy" to form around these party hats?) So yeah, rares may technically never be elimated, but they will, at some point, be eliminated in all practical senses. Wrong. They're eliminated. If the player truly quits with a rare in his bank, it's gone forever. 10-year-veteran players are unlikely because: [*:24xoc1ua]People change a lot between age 16 and age 26 (trust me 8-) )[*:24xoc1ua]RS doesn't have nearly the content/playability of the longer lasting games. [*:24xoc1ua]Even the longest-lasting gamer would be absoutely ANCIENT (relative to other players)if he made it past the 10-year mark. [*:24xoc1ua]People quit when their friends quit. The liklihood of any TWO people sticking it out for 10 years is miniscule. [*:24xoc1ua]Many other reasons. I'm a little tired to list any more at the moment...
  13. You'll lose cash at metal dragons most of the time. The only place to gain money while using attack splls (that I can think of) is barrows with slayer dart. EDIT: Just thought of another one. "Salarin the Twisted" can be fought for a profit with mage attack spells. (Actually - fighting him is super cheap and awesome exp. You hit 12 with fire strike!!)
  14. Pretty nice guide. My biggest tip: once you can make them, super sets are the best / most lucrative way to gain herblore exp. But you'll need tons of white berries. (Newt eyes are easy to get, and limps can be found in bulk pretty easily.) If I were you, I'd emphasize the importance of 59 farming, and collecting as many whiteberries as possible. Even before you have the herby level to make super defense. I've collected thousands (no exaggeration) and I'm still always running out. They're free once you can grow them, and yet if you try to buy them from other players, they're as much as 1k each. GET 59 FARMING!! GROW TONS OF WHITEBERRIES! EVEN IF YOU CAN'T USE THEM YET!! VERY IMPORTANT!! NOW MY CAPSLOCK IS BROKEN!! :P -Zandalf, 82 herblore
  15. I think you're overlooking an important point. I postulate that 90% of the rares currently in circulation will be gone in 10 years, if Jagex survives that long. (Also questionable  ) Currently, rares leave the market when: [*:hlyybsyp]Accounts containing them are banned[*:hlyybsyp]They are dropped and not picked up These situations are monumentally rare, so the volume of rares declines slowly. But within the next few years, the rate of rares leaving the market will increase faster and faster because of another major drain on the market: players quitting. A rare-owner quitting RS will keep his rares in the bank. He'd be an idiot to sell them, because if he ever came back, his gross net worth (without rares) would be microscopic compared to his potential net worth (with rares), no matter how much he managed to sell them for before quitting. Let's say the current average for p-hat owner age is 16. In ten years, do you think most currently-playing 16-year-olds will still be playing? At the age of 26?(I'm not saying older players don't play - I'm 25. I'm just saying you're unlikely to play for 10 years straight) So, to everyone saying it'll never happen: sorry. It'll happen sooner than you think.
  16. This week the RS economy is experiencing what stockbrokers would call a "correction." Of course we'll call it a "recession" if prices don't rebound. :P But besides that, some of the d chain drop can be attributed to the Barbarian Outpost. I haven't played the minigame myself, but I've heard many KQ conqurers complain that Barbarian Outpost makes it too easy to get a d chain.
  17. I have sometimes wondered if Jagex might someday introduce more rares into the game to absorb the continuing influx of money and control the run-away inflation. It would have to be a complete surprise to prevent hoarding before it happened. They might consider it because (as the original post suggests) at some point, the existing number of rares will be insufficient to absorb the inflation. Not because there will be too few rares, but rather because there will be too many rich players. The best solution might be for Jagex to reverse their stated policy on rares. They could either discontinue an existing item (think headbands, heraldic items, other wearables etc.), or drop a new item (a la Christmas crackers). I heard one old player compare the half-wine situation to burnt shrimp. That is, what if they reduced the burn rate on shrimp to 0%? Everyone with burnt shrimp in their bank would suddenly be rich...
  18. I've made 2m/hr before with herblore. But it probably doesn't count, because it's highly dependent on how many sellers you can get. (i.e. I usually make 200k/hr or less when doing this :? )
  19. Walk up to the wilderness ditch (without crossing it) and start heading west. It's about as far as you can go. Warning: Telegrabbing zammy wines is extremely boring and time-consuming!
  20. Thanks for the tip wachtwoord - I added a couple of items to the guide, including yours. :D
  21. It's in there. You must have overlooked it: (Emphasis added)
  22. Nope. Still the wrong person. Look at this map. The npc you need is "Ilfeen".
  23. Greater demons in watchtower dungeon. Bring along some telegrab runes for clues, rune items, etc.
  24. You spoke with the wrong elf. The one who recharges seeds is female, and in a completely different spot.
