  1. Does anyone know a good site that has a detailed list of when updates were introduced? I know that the offical RS news list goes back pretty far, but I'm looking for information before that. Specifically, I want to know when some of the older skills started. Herblore. Runecrafting. Fletching. Things like that.
  2. Brilliant idea! ::gives cookies:: Suggestion - make a "clear" button at the bottom that resets everything to 00:00. (Or make a note that hitting "refresh" on your browser will do it.)
  3. Hey everyone! My guide, unfortunately, is in dire need of updating. Based on what I've heard from friends and people on this thread, I feel that there may have been some hidden updates with fail rates. However, I am not a member at the moment, and it might be a month (or more!) before I get my membership back. So I can't test it. I just wanted to apologize for possible inaccuracies, and thank everyone for their help and support.
  4. Two things: 1) The original post is, like 18 hours old. The guy who asked the question is long gone. 2) He isn't talking about some kind of abstract concept of "popularity". He's asking how many posts it takes to get the "popular" icon next to your post title in the forum list. The icon is animated. It shows a sheet of paper popping up and then shaking a little. I think it's based on views - not replies. Probably something like 100-200 views.
  5. Yeah - I've been out of town for almost a month, during which time I've let my membership lapse. I'll (probably) be renewing my membership in a couple of weeks. Until then, I won't be adding anything about the new mini-game, or the soon-to-be-released new agility course.
  6. Fastest way I've found is to get 10+ lyres, a bunch of raw bass, and a few dueling rings. Enchant all the lyres, then use them and the dueling rings to go back and forth between CW and the seaweed respawns near the rockcrabs east of the Fremminik village. Very quick, though a bit more expensive than the fishing colony.
  7. Did you just totally ignore my post? I think it has some very helpful information. Mario- Sorry to seem to ignore you, but most of the information in that post was already in the guide: I've already mentioned the pineapples. And the lack of random-events is nearly impossible to confirm. I might investigate your claims about remaining hp versus damage though. If it's true, I'll add it. However, don't expect it soon. I've let my membership lapse because I'll be out of town for about a month.
  8. Check my guide (in my sig). But in a nutshell, you're right. Do the brimhaven course and jump the blades in the center while you're waiting for the pillar to change.
  9. Ancient magick is a lot more fun, yes. But you'll never turn a profit with it. If you're in it for proft (instead of fun), use slayer dart.
  10. Normal cakes are way easier to get. Of course, if you've got some easy source of chocolate cakes, they're much better. But getting all of the chocolate bars isn't worth it for most people.
  11. Ack! Never train on dusties in high detail! Switch to low detail and lose the screen-obscuring fog!
  12. Curry will keep your inventory full. Or replace the sharks with more wild pies. That'll keep your inventory full, heal you, and raise your range. You might want to reference the other guide on soloing the C.E.. It shows how to use a cannon out there.
  13. Hell yeah! Me too! Besides the various nefarious uses, you could discover the medicine that would cure cancer!
  14. Why do I play? Because I'm horribly horribly addicted. RS is worse than heroin. And in other news.... ...Zandalf's Law rears its ugly head! Zandalf's law is like Zandalf's love: Hard. And fast!
  15. There are two range spots in jellies. The one I use is in the northeast corner of the room. You can trap the jelly on one side of a rock while you range from the other side. The best ranged spot for turoths is at the south side of the room, where you exit to go to kurasks. Stand in the exit and range into the room. (Remember you need broad arrows to range these guys.) There's an awesome safe-spot guide in the AOW. Go check it out for pics of these spots.
  16. True, but that wouldn't really help me get 99 cooking. :( Ok, why wouldn't it?.. Lets say you catch all trout, now this isn't true as once you get higher fishing lvl your more likely to catch all salmon. But for this lets just catch trout kay?. Now you need to catch 248,8 k trout for 99 fishing. For 99 cooking you have to cook 174,8 k trout. Now thats 74 k less trout you need to cook. So why wouldn't it work? You have 74 k trout to sell off for 50 ea uncooked. [*:2mfp20wi]You don't catch more salmon than trout when your fishing level gets higher. You catch closer and closer to 50% of each. [*:2mfp20wi]Fly fishing is only slightly faster than monks. It used to be much faster before they separated the fish spots in Shilo. [*:2mfp20wi]If he's trying to lvl cooking at the same time (and he is), then monks will be waaaay faster than fly fishing. I think his plan sounds pretty solid as it is.
  17. That's what I thought, but I've heard quite a few contrasting opinions on the matter. :) Any idea of the lvl when you stop burning them? Sorry, I really have no idea. Although I think that I can still burn monks at 85 cooking. Not sure though.
  18. Some quest items will never be re-obtainable after the quest, so if you drop them, you'll never see them again. (Think napkin from Holy Grail quest.) Check out the new Items Database if you've got questions about specific items. If you want general help on cleaning out your bank, you can post a picture of your bank in this forum and people will be glad to help you find useless items.
  19. I personally have not done the experiments, but theoretically, cooking gauntlets should not lower your burn rates on monkfish. Jagex has been pretty clear that the gaunts only affect four fish (tuna, lobs, swordfish, and sharks).
  20. I know they're not terribly valuable, but it is two fun ones in one chest... (P.S. I bet you'll never guess what my last clue was by looking at my inventory)
  21. I don't see why everyone claims it's so expensive. Look at the costs: [*:pcn8njpk]The recharge of 1 crystal bow = 180k* [*:pcn8njpk]20 super restores(4) @ 10k ea = 200k [*:pcn8njpk]1/4 recharge of your guthans = 75k or soTotal: 450k or so Not 3-4 Million *I only put down the recharge of 1 crystal bow because you should need 1 full bow and about 1/10th of your 2nd one.
  22. I think some people are disappointed in it because it doesn't integrate very well with any other skills. It helps with range (chinchompas) and thieving (gloves of silence), and that's about it. The capes are kind of nice, but not really a big effect on any other skills. People were hoping for a new skill which would change the face of a lot of other skills. But most people consider Hunter a "stand-alone" skill, and thus, for those people, it isn't worth it.
