  1. I'm combat 103, and I JUST got def 70. I'd been putting it off for years (well, maybe a year). I originally wanted to be a rune pure, and I was for a long time. Then, when my combat got up in the high 80s, I decided rune wasn't good enough, and I trainied my def up to 60 for dragon legs/helm/sq. Well, last week I finally bit the bullet and trained it up to 70, and my first order of business was to buy full guthans. Can I just say that every other milestone in the game pales in comparison. Like when I finally got 76 fishing, and was able to fish sharks, I got bored really quickly and decided shark fishing wasn't really that great after all. But Guthans is a totally different story. It makes a HUGE difference. I just powered through a gargoyle slayer assignment without ever pausing or ever eating a SINGLE PIECE OF FOOD! Guthans = freaking awesome.
  2. "Vengeance" is a spell you can cast when you're on the lunar spellbook. It works like a gigantic ring of recoil, except that instead of doing 1 or 2 damage to you, it does about 75% of the damage back to you (so if you hit him for 20, the vengeance spell would automatically hit you for around 15). He was telling you to taste his spell.
  3. I just got a shiny new set of full guthans to help me with slayer. My new task is 166 gargoyles. I've got low defense (70) but high combat stats otherwise (78 attack, 92 str, 67 prayer). Will my guthans heal me fast enough at the gargoyles? Or should I stick with my old range/hally methods for these guys?
  4. It warms my heart to see everyone saying "Now I'll never visit HQ again!" I only signed on a couple of weeks before release. You'll have to look awfully hard to find my submissions  .
  5. Thanks guys. I'll try cutting it down to 60x60 EDIT: Had to shrink it down to 48x48 and remove 3 frames. But I finally got it down to size.
  6. It doesn't say any specific level on the RS knowledge base article. It just says "Good thieving and agility is an advantage." But based on countless anecdotes, you'll regret it if you don't get your agility up before you try it. The "agility maze" section is extremely difficult if you've got agility under 50 or so. My agility was 60-ish when I last did it, and I still failed a few times. If you need help on agility, try THIS. The author of that guide is extremely handsome, and has minty-fresh breath.
  7. I made it in GIMP. I've already used to tool to optimize it for animation. It's 12.8 kb, and it needs to be 6. Is it possible?
  8. Thanks to beesafree and his (her?) excellent instructions over PM, I can now be extremely annoying when posting pictures. OBSERVE!!! Thanks y'all! This can now be locked/forgotten about.
  9. Heh heh... I guess to start, I should know what the easiest program would be to use. Is there a tutorial to this "The Gimp"? Is it free? Do you recommend getting it and playing around with it?
  10. I'd like to make a simple animated gif. Could someone either point me towards a tutorial, or explain it for me? Thanks.
  11. Is there any reason you can't just go get another? Just get it the same way you got your first one.
  12. I saw this method on the player-made guides forum. I don't remember who the author was. Keep a tinderbox in your inventory. Use the lumbridge bank (on top of the castle). Run out of the bank, light the logs that are 2 squares away, cook, repeat.
  13. My most liked is Herblore. A thinking man's skill. My least liked (I don't hate anything) is Fletching. The root of most economical woes in this game.
  14. What do you mean? Did you already have a greegree, and a monkey came up to you and stole it? Were you trying to get one and you failed? Did you drop it and a monkey picked it up? Can you be more specific?
  15. FINALLY updated the front page. Check it out.
  16. People above have answered the questions, but I just wanna add my two cents. I've gotten 2 clues dropped before. In fact, I made THIS post about it. But you can't bank them both. I carried them both back to the bank (very difficult process), and banked one. But I couldn't pick up the other one. Afterwards, I considered telegrabbing it, but it was too late. (Side note: RoW does not increase or decrease your chances of getting a clue. This has been confirmed by Jagex. In fact, the argument about decreasing your chances is that the clue replaces another item with a higher alch value. But since an update about a month ago, the clue comes alongside another regular drop. So that argument is now void.)
  17. Death tallys are tradeable. And you're right - they usually cost about 100k to buy.
  18. I've seen tons of polls that ask "What are your highest/lowest stats?" And the results are usually the same. Fletching/cooking/strength are all everyone's highest, and hunter/construction/farming are always everyone's lowest. Okay, by "always" I mean "usually" or "often." So sue me. So I thought I'd get some more interesting results by asking what your highest and lowest RANKS are. Go on hiscores and see. If a skill isn't ranked at all (i.e. not on hiscores) then it doesn't count. Example: My highest is Heblore, ranked 4161. My lowest is Woodcutting, ranked 953,613. Hunter doesn't count as my lowest because it's unranked. You don't have to put down what the rank is (unless you really want to  ). Just what's highest and lowest. Also: feel free to post comments or discussion of the results. Results HIGHEST RANKED Construction (9) Hunter (8) Slayer (7) Runecrafting (6) Thieving (6) Firemaking (6) Cooking(5) Ranged (4) Attack (3) Farming (3) Agility (3) Fletching (3) Herblore (3) Prayer (2) Mining (2) Woodcutting (2) Crafting (1) Magic (1) Fishing (1) Smithing (1) LOWEST RANKED Mining (27) Strength (13) Woodcutting (11) Fishing (5) Thieving (4) Hunter (3) Fletching (3) Ranged (2) Smithing (2) Mage (2) Att (1) Cooking (1) Firemaking (1) Prayer (1) Agility (1) Updated through the oddfaery on pg 5 Who else thinks that autoers may be affecting our hiscores? Look at how low TIF people are in mining and woodcutting. Is it autoers driving us down?
  19. There are so many places that I wonder whether there are other restrictions you're asking about. How about the Greaters in the watchtower dungeon? How about the Ogres in king lanthas' training camp? With your range level, I would think you'd know some good places...
  20. Woah back there Pablo: let's not start throwing around terms we don't understand. "Human rights" usually refers to things like [*:mj989bu2]The right to be alive. [*:mj989bu2]The right not to be tortured [*:mj989bu2]The right to freedom from unjust imprisonment [*:mj989bu2]The right to own property. Things like Free Speech, the Right to Employment, the Right to Bear Arms are NOT considered basic human rights. You're complaining that a video game mistakenly banned you. Perhaps you should go to Darfur--where hundreds of thousands of people have been mindlessly slaughtered in the past 10 years--and check out what it is really like to lose your human rights.
  21. Also, you don't need to be in a garden to plant it. Try planting it outside your house.
  22. Are you asking in theoretical terms or practical terms? Theoretically, yes, you can be banned for anything or nothing. But you already know that. Practically though, there's no way you'll be banned for that. There's maybe a 1% chance that the report will be seen by anyone (unless it was a p-mod doing the reporting, which I doubt), and if anyone sees it, there's maybe a 5% chance they'll be some humorless scrooge who doesn't recognize irony. So let's see: .01 x .05 = .0005, or 1/20th of one percent chance you'd get banned. Don't worry about it.
  23. Do you mean the kind that you can wind up and release? And it dances around or some such nonsense? If so, then the answer to your question is: not much.
