1. I don't know whether the requirement is a hard 60 or a soft 60 (whether you can boost your stat to get it, that is) but there's one thing you should consider: A mage pot will raise your mage by +4 every time. Ask a friend with high herby. Or go to the kalphite lair and collect some potato cactus. Most herblorists will be willing to trade two cacti per mage pot. On the other hand, if you're too poor to afford to raise your mage, how are you going to afford the bloods required for the mage arena?
2. It's approximately 1/4 of your ranged level. So if you're 99 ranged, and you pot and pray, I'd guess it'd be around 32-35. But I don't know for sure. :(
3. A couple of things: 1) On most players, there will be some stats hidden on the hiscores. Like an embarrassing lvl 7 hunter for example. Anything below lvl 30 or below the top 1M players is hidden. But not with the spy spell. 2) People don't check hiscores on a whim really. This spell encourages players to heckle people who they would otherwise just walk on past. Again: I like the spell. I just want to know what the people are thinking who don't like it.
4. Personally, I'm with you, Dork. I had one guy scan me and say "Omg! Herby higher than att!" - One of my proudest moments ever in RS. But I'd love to hear from someone who wants to keep their stats hidden - and any good arguments to that effect.
5. I have been wasting runes like crazy since I finished the new quest. The spell that allows you to instantly see other players' stats is a laugh riot. You walk up to someone, check their stats and say something like "Dude, you have 17 woodcutting, and you need to recharge your prayer". And they freak out. So much fun! But... Is it an annoyance or an invasion of privacy? Sure, in another week, people will quit annoying other players by constantly checking their stats. But from now on, anyone on the lunar spell book can see all your stats whenever they please -- even the ones below 30, and even if they have been altered by a pot or something. (I.e. you can see if someone has 0 / 43 prayer, or if they have 110 / 99 strength.) Some people I checked seemed like they felt violated or offended. Is this too powerful? Should we have the ability to hide stats? Should it work like hiscores, where you can only see what their base level is and not what their current altered level is? What do you think?
6. You will still get randoms on the observation walls of the arena.
7. The original post is really old, but I gotta say... ...black vams? What are your best RFD gloves? Black vams are pretty easy to beat. Also, switch the rune boots for ranger boots or snakeskin boots Other than that, though, nice set up. .(Though you might think about an unholy symbol instead of the fury, since your prayer is so low...)
8. There are no randoms in there, but duels automatically time out after a set length of time.
9. [hide=spoiler]During mournings end (part 1 or 2. I can't remember), you discover that all of the mourners are actually.....[hide=big spoiler]...corrupt elves in disguise. They're working on uncovering the entrance to the temple of light and death altar. The entrance is under west Ardy, so they need a cover story to carry on their work.[/hide][/hide]
10. There is absolutely NO way to tell for sure that someone is a macroer. Sure, lots of things suggest that someone might be autoing, but there's no way to prove it. Here are some things that suggest an autoer: [*:2jz6j1rn]Low combat level [*:2jz6j1rn]Generic name with numbers [*:2jz6j1rn]Basic character model (tan shirt, green pants, bald) [*:2jz6j1rn]Doesn't respond when you talk to them [*:2jz6j1rn]Doesn't respond or responds slowly to randoms [*:2jz6j1rn]Unusual zig-zag walking patternsOf course, an honest player might be doing any of these things. Again, there's no way to tell for sure.
11. Thanks for the tips, Ikraz. I added a bit of content.
12. Yeah, I thought about that. But it's only a helping technique for a skill; it doesn't actually give exp. So I decided it's more of a "tip & other" than a "skill". Of course, if a mod decides it doesn't belong here, I certainly won't be offended if it gets moved.
13. I could, but I make more money with pots, and just selling the herbs doesn't give much herblore exp. Plus, I didn't intend this as a moneymaking guide, but as a guide for a herblore tool.  [hide=...and just in case anyone wants to put this in AOW...] Disclaimer I didn't intend this guide for moneymaking (though you will make money if you use it). It's just to teach the antiscam technique. Introduction My favorite way to make money uses my favorite skill, herblore. My method is to buy unidentified herbs above ranarr (herbs that take lvl 26 or higher to identify), and then make them into potions. These potions will sell for more than their ingrediants, so I make money on the deal. But how do you buy unidentified herbs above ranarr? If someone tries to sell you some herbs, how do you know they're the right ones? If you go to world two, and start shouting "Buying unids above ranarr!!!" about half of the people who trade you will try to sell you herbs below ranarr. Most of these people aren't scammers; they just don't understand what you're trying to buy. If you only want certain herbs, the method to do it is "Antiscam." Here's how it works: Setting Up Your Bank To get started, you'll need two unidentified herbs of each type, and at least one identified herb of each type. Arrange them in your bank so that each herb comes after its corresponding pile of unidentified herbs. It'll look like this: Notice there are at least two unids in each unid stack. This is important; having only one won't work. Now you've already figured out what the unids are, and they won't move around in your bank by themselves. So you can count on all of your unids staying put next to their identified counterpart. Here's what everything is: Torstol is optional, but snapdragon isn't. You need two unidentified snapdragons.

Getting unidentified snapdragon can be tricky, but you only need two. Try posting an ad on forums paying way over the normal price. NEW METHOD: (I just read about this and haven't tried it out yet.) Since unid snapdragon comes only from random events, your best chance of getting one is creating a bunch of herblore-related random events. Go to fairy ring B K Q (I think), and use an axe on a tree there. This automatically summons a tree spirit every time. Use a safe spot to range the tree spirit. It drops a lot of interesting things, one of which is unidentified snapdragon.
Unidentified toadflax comes from random events or from the temple trekking minigame (or from other players)
Unidentified torstol comes from killing Salarin the Twisted in the Agility Dungeon (or from other players).
Setting Up Your Inventory First, withdraw whatever money you're going to use to buy your unids. Now, set your withdraw mode to "note," then withdraw one note of each of your unids. Try to withdraw them in order, so you know which one is which. (This is the part where you'll be glad you had two of each herb in your bank instead of one. When you withdraw one of each, the other one remains in your bank, holding the place.) Then, change your withdraw mode from "note" to "item." Now withdraw the rest of your inventory with a non-stackable item like rune essence. Here's what it looks like, and what each note is: I always include ranarr, since people can sell them to you by mistake, and they're very valuable. I also always include toadflax, since most players only get unidentified toadflax through random events, and people don't realize what it is. If you don't include toadflax, you'll get a lot of failed trades from honest players. Antiscam in Action Now go to a crowded world and start saying "Buying unids above ranarr - [your name here]." If someone tries to sell you a bunch of unids, and they're all above ranarr, everything will work just fine. If someone tries to sell you a bunch of unids, and any of the stacks is something else (guam, marrentill, tarromin, harralander, rogues purse, sito foil, etc.), the trade will fail after the first trade screen, and you'll get a message saying "You do not have enough room for this trade." Often, the seller will then say something like, "Omg! Get more room, nub!" Make sure you never spend all the coins in your inventory. You need to save at least one to hold the place (so the slot doesn't get filled by a stack of unid guams). Remember: most of the time, the person isn't trying to scam you. They have just made an honest mistake. Explain to them that one or more of their stacks is below ranarr. Often, they'll go to the bank and try to ID them again, and come back a few minutes later with a successful trade.[/hide]
14. Alas, as of Sep 10, 2007, this guide is obsolete. Read it, and reminisce about the old days of unidentified herbs. 15. Cannoning is a lousy way to train range. Each damage point gives you half as much exp as normal ranging, and 0 hp exp. So essentially, you're getting a quarter the exp you would for just ranging the monster normally. I think people see the occasional "30" hit and say "Wow! This is great ranged xp!" But it's not.
16. Not really. No one is going to sell something for 300gp under its alch price. They would just alch it themselves. The only exception I can think of is rune meds. But you won't be able to buy them in bulk.
17. NOTE: Crumble undead isn't as good as it used to be. Two years ago, it gave 49 exp per cast, every cast. Then they changed it (cut the exp in half). All the guides said crumble undead was the best/fastest/cheapest way to train mage. Which was true. But some guides never changed when they halved the xp. So while it's still a pretty good spell for training, it's not omg amazing any more
18. The only part of the quest that requires the high agility is going through the "dense forest." Yes, you can beat the 110 with prayer. Check my sig for agility advice, if you still want it.
19. Nope. All green dragons are in the wilderness. One of the greatest ideas Jagex ever had: it forces skillers to go out there and keeps the price of green dragonhides up.
20. Why didn't I make it on there? :( (I'm on page 15.)
21. The best reliable way to get half keys isn't a monster drop. It's the gnome cuisine minigame. Other loot includes tons of other gems, goggles, scarf, and grand seed pod.
22. There are dozens of them in that spot on pretty much every f2p world. Yes, you can report them for macroing. They don't have to talk.
23. Best way to quit runescape temporarily: Wear all of your best members items. Withdraw all of the rest of your best items from your bank. Make sure your inventory is full, and there aren't any stacks of your best items left in the bank (i.e. withdraw all of your coins. Don't leave a single coin in the bank.) Then let your membership expire. There is really nothing you can do in f2p with a full inventory, and you won't want to drop anything because they're your best items. You won't be tempted to play when you know you can't do anything in the game. And if you decide you're ready to come back, you can just pay for membership again and you've lost nothing.
