  1. I'm wanting to train my strength, defence and combat levels, and am wondering which monsters to kill to quickly obtain combat exp without having to spend a lot of time travelling to and from a bank. Ideally, the monsters will be easy to hit, don't do me a lot of damage, and are plenty in number. Factors to consider: (a) fast combat exp is the most important factor, (B) not banking too often is important because it wastes time, © obtaining worthwhile drops (like herbs, or big bones or gold etc) is handy but not essential. Stackable drops like runes or gold is better (less banking), and big bones can be buried instantly to save banking. (d) being close to a bank for replenishing food and potion supplies etc would be nice, but is only necessary if I am taking a lot of hits or getting lots of drops. For your info, my combat level is 105 (99 attack, 85 strength, 71 defence, 61 prayer), and I'll be wearing: Neitzenot helmet, granite plate, dragon legs, glory amulet, dragon boots and black gloves, and wielding a whip and rune defender. :?: Any thoughts? Thank you. Cheers, ThreeRivers1

  3. When buying raw karmbwan from Tiadeche after completing the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio quest, it now costs 440 gp (instead of the previous 100 gp). Therefore the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio quest guide requires updating (the Tips, tricks and notes section at the end). Cheers, ThreeRivers1
  4. I have only maxed ATTACK (I am 99), STRENGTH (85) and HIT POINTS (82). I had maxed HUNTER (76) and PRAYER (61) but recent introductions to those skills (Implings and Piety prayer) mean that I have some more work to do.
  5. Interesting question Deceiver2. Personally, I will converse with anyone. Most of the time I have no idea of the age of the person I'm talking to, and I wouldn't care anyway. I'm often asked for advice by newer players, and I'm happy to oblige. On my friends list are my 12 and 15 year old nephews, as well as my 28 year old work colleague and a lovely 30+ mother I met in the mining guild. As long as you don't beg or be rude, I'm happy to chat to anyone. P.S. Wow - this topic is running hot! I sure hope Tip It make it into a poll to determine once and for all what is the average age of players - they might need to split it into F2P and P2P though.
  6. I reckon Tip It should do a poll on the age of Runescape players. I know a lot of young kids are playing these days, so it would be interesting to know the average age of players, and what is the age of the oldest and youngest players. I don't find too many people my age playing, but did chat to someone once that knew a grandpa that plays RS!!! For the record, I'm 35. :)
  7. Thanks for the advice people. Look out Cyclops - here I come! 8-)
  8. Why isn't it worth paying the farmer? What else are you going to do with the fruit and veg you collect?
  9. Just to clarify... the PC games I play are usually medium to fast. My normal method is 4 x DDS specials which usually gets me past 50 damage/zeal, then change to my abyssal whip. To move from attack to strength training (once I get 99 att) I'm thinking of changing from stab (att) to lunge (str) with the dagger, but still use the 4 x specials to get past 50 zeal, then switch to Dharok's Great Axe instead of a whip. Hopefully I'd get several good hits in before the game is over. P.S. Yes, the answer to my sig is literally "nothing". Well done to those who worked it out.
  10. :?: I notice that Dharok's Great Axe gives a great strength and slash bonus, but is it useful for training strength (and is 'slash' even a strength option)? I know it's slow, but with the huge bonuses, it seems better than most other options. Any thoughts on this? P.S. I do most of my training playing Pest Control, so defence does not matter, just strength xp. :)
  11. I agree with lostdreamer3. While Zou Lou's advice is good, I prefer to pay the farmer to look after everything. I don't have the patience to stand around watching plants grow for 15 minutes, or even 5 minutes. I just plant the seeds (and always use super compost to increase yields) and pay the farmer to look after them. Why waste the time (and seeds) planting them if you can't guarantee the xp from checking/picking them??? Paying the farmer guarantees your crop - so no risk, and no waste! :D For low to medium level farmers there are very few items that you get from farming that are much use to use in general, or are much value to sell (herbs are the exception of course). Therefore, bank all the flowers, fruit and vegetables etc you farm and use them later on to pay the farmer to look after your higher level crops. Make sense? This is just my opinion, 'cos I can't stand to waste time and seeds with dead crops. I hope this helps.
  12. I'm wanting a rune defender, but i'm not sure if they are tradeable. Does any one know? If they are tradeable, what price do rune defenders go for?
  13. Technically, this is incorrect. World 78 is generally known as the Pest Control (PC) world. While many clans/PC groups such as Heart Unit and Affliction will move from world to world to ensure fast PC games, world 78 remains the PC "home world" where you will always find people playing, and get a boat full of players for a game or two. Mind you, the noobs know about world 78 too, so expect to play with low levels as well, so you won't always be winning. I hope this helps! :)
  14. Exactly. You nailed it SwampJedi. =D> Luring is wrong. Just because the stupid are the ones that suffer, does not make the luring O.K.
  15. This is exactly why I play in low detail as well. As far as I am concerned low detail is better than high detail. Double ditto. I like to be able to see what is in a building when I walk past, and I also like to be able to click on objects (eg. bank booth) before I get there. It's waaaaay more efficient playing that way. :D Plus the start up music is annoying. :x
