How to play Gamecube on you're monitor.

Featured Replies

I don't have a tv right now because I just moved from Oklahoma to Philadelphia we had to give it away because we had no more room to take it. We're getting a new tv when we buy a house I'm living in a apartment. It's xmas break and I want to play game cube any way I can play without a tv like using my pc monitor? All help is appreciated.

You can use your TV as a second monitor for your computer, but I think it might not be as easy otherwise...

Depending on what connection your game cube has you might be able to connect it to a TV-card in your computer if you have one ( I have a pinnacle one which has a VCR connected to it so I can watch).

If it comes with an S-video cable or so you might have a chance of getting that to work. However, its not exactly a standard component in most PCs.

I have used this before to play my old Sega Master system games on my computer though. (Roms are easier to cheat with, but the keyboard controls = no good)

This should probably be in Tech and Computers though

you can get a VGA box, it lets you plud the scart composite leads into it and use the monitor. Somthing like this i believe would work. Or you can try that TV card idea, i used to do it with my PS2.

Lik-sang used to sell convertor boxes for $50 that you could use to get VGA quality graphics on a PC monitor for Gamecube, not so sure now since their website is down after being sued by Sony :-k

You can also try connecting it to your graphics card, and use the windows channel tuner to play games on the monitor. This has worked on my friend's ATI card, I haven't tested it personally on a laptop.

You're right, this is quite technical rather than a general discussion about the console.

It MIGHT. Can't guarantee it though. Best way would be to try ;)

Ive only got experience using it in the other direction.

My external HD with movies => my gfs laptop => the DVD-player (tv didnt have the right connections) => the TV.

And yes that worked :D

Without a VGA converter it can look *awful*. I saw some screenshots and I wouldn't dare to play games with *that* grainy graphics.
