First sig help

Im in the midst of making my first sig, it's started below. I need some help on how to finish off the top of the cauldron, it is supposed to be circular but I can't get it to work out nice, and how to i add texture to the potions and stuff?

It looks ok so far but you know the pixel parts will really stand out against the smooth background.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And liquid doesn't fall totally vertically.

 

 

 

And the tipped-over vial looks wierd too.

what do you sujest i do for the back ground then. how would i make the liquid look more real?

water will usally spread out into blobs, and eventually drops if it falls long enough. Just making the flow inconsistent would look ok. Your vials should slope up more like this

also the test tubes are usally rounded at the bottom and you need to make the lines straighter of the vial that is falling.
