Alexisonfire; settling an arguement

First off, amazing band, 3 incredible albums, brilliant style and very few bad songs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Since the Taste Of Chaos tour grasping scene kids into it's 5-hour long crapfest with bands like Taking Back Sunday and Senses Fail, in England everyone's suddenly creaming over Alexisonfire. Which is annoying when people ask "if i've heard of them" as if I havn't listned to them for years. :/

 

 

 

Egocentricism aside, heres the debate;

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I know thier names said Alexis-On-Fire.

 

 

 

So it's not Alex-Is-On-Fire like the twitty scene kids here seem to think..

 

 

 

but i looked up the word Lexis and it means;

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The total set of words in a language as distinct from morphology; vocabulary.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Judging by the band's lyrics which are pretty gosh darned thought provoking and metaphoric, could the name mean A-Lexis-On-Fire, as in the words are "on fire" - describing their vocal style - if you get what i mean.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So anyone know which it is? Alexis or A Lexis?

In a few biographies it states that they are named after the worlds only lactating contortionist or something bizarre like that.

Alexis-on-fire. I'm seeing them in January. (I thought they were named after an adult-film star)
