Hill Giants don't hit all that hard. You should be fine, depending on your level. I could go almost indefinetly with only one lob for backup waring full rune.

I was fighting hill gians when i was a little nipper (level 35) with a mith scimmy and mith armour, you will be fine.

they hit a high of 3 and their hp is 35

I think their max hit is less than 5. I've never killed them for a long period of time and I don't remember needing any food at all. They have 35 hp.
