Obsessive_Passion
At my school we only have 1 set of exams - at the end of the year. However, this was compromised by continuous assessments, so I don't know which is better. 2 exams a day? Some of us had 3 exams back-to-back last year, even when spread over 2 weeks. I remember the first week I had 2 exams (with 3 days break in between), then during the second week I had 5 exams (2 doubles, 1 single), each exam being at least 2 hours each. It was crazy. I am so confused. How many classes do you have that you take exams for? Obsessive_Passion
Each subject is fully assessed and examined. The HSC (higher school certificate) system is based on a number of 'units' instead of a number of subjects. Each subject is given a unit value. I did 12, min = 10, max = 14. The more units = the more exams. So, for year 11 last year, I studied: Advanced English (2), English Ext (1, separate exam), Mathematics (2), Maths Ext (1, separate exam), Business Studies (2), French (2), Economics (2). But the school also offers another 25 electives. Hence, the need for 2 weeks of exams. :D Confusing, at first, yes, but we get used to it.
