I'm about to finish this quest and I'm wondering what kind of armour should I use in the final fight. I plan to bring a D scimmy for a weapon, but should I bring full rune, red dhide or mystic armor? Also, what prayer should I use in the fight?

I died like 3 times during the final stage. Then I figured out magic is the way to go. I was in and out in like 20 seconds. Put protection from range on and wear items that'll boost your magic up (all I had laying around was Lunar Set and Magic Amulet). Several high hitting attacks later, quest complete. Just my opinion as melee just wasn't working for me.

What I did was melee the thing with two normal anti-poisons, two prayer potions, and sharks for food. I melee'd it with rune armor and a dragon scimitar.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the fight:

 

 

 

It uses melee and range, I believe, so don't worry about prayer then. Once it starts getting help, then I protected from their attacks, and took them out, but just attacking the beetle and ignoring the other monsters that appear to help it, might work.

full black,barrows gloves, rune helm,d scimmy,rune def or kite...then attack the monster...when the other side monsters spawn(a ranger and a mager) use the correct prayer and attack them first then come back to boss. once you have done this you done!
