Are Crossbows any good?

 

 

 

Consider a Rune Crossbow using Opal Tipped Bronze arrows, 84 Ranged with Full black Dragonhide, Fremmy Range Helmet, Snakeskin Boots and Zammy book.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Would it compete with a Magic Short using bronze Arrows?

not for training, the damages are alot higher then its corresponding arrows tho.

Any good for PvP?

 

 

 

Use it with an Obsidian Shield.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Any info on the chance of the Enchantment to kick in?

 

 

 

How often will Opal Enchanted cast Lightning?

 

 

 

What would be better, cheap, enchanted bolts or expensive plain bolts?

 

 

 

(example: Pearl Tipped bolts vs Adamant/Runite bolts)

Very, very slow rate of fire on the crossbow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The advantage of the crossbow are the enchanted bolts and their crazy specials.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But given how slow they fire, and that the specials only go off randomly, it really doesn't seem like a practical option.

So.. enchanted Emerald Mithril Bolts or Runite Arrows for PvP?

I think that the special bolt effects are more likely the higher gem you use, but I am only currently comparing opal to jade, but the jade was much more likely. Mind you, grab a few onyx bolts with a rune x bow, and you have ranged guthan. Ownage? But what about magic logs, are we going to be expecting dragon x bows any time soon?

Just watched a movie where someoen used x-bow Dragon Bolts for KO in PKing.. he hit a 45...

 

 

 

though its pretty unreliable, its got to be fun :P
