Martial Arts

Now i haven't posted in a long time. But recently ive been really interested in martial arts from around the world and today i looked at the tip.it forums. And i remembered all the things i found wrong with RS and all of the things i found good about it. One of the things that frustrated me about RS was the fact that you could only do real damage to people when you were equipped with a good weapon and the fact there was no real use for the strength skill in RS. And now that pures are advancing they realise they dont need high strength levels and all it does is add unnecessary combat levels once you have a certain good strength level (for instance lvl 60/70 strength). You may feel differently but strength does make a big difference generally in our lives.

I was tempted to put this into attack but that would just give attack a further incentive to be trained when it really does not need it.

Although they say that martial arts teaches you how to use technique to overpower your opponent and not just brute force there is still an amount of strength needed for the formula to work.

I propose that you should be able to use martial arts styles instead of your normal kicks and punches. To make a more interesting game and more diversity and character fighting styles, I will give you a short list of some martial arts I think should be included to choose from. If you have any more to add, please send me a imageshack uploaded link to the picture, a link to the wikipedia definition of the martial art and a brief overview about it which also includes where it originated from.

I need to go for now, but I will post more pictures and specifications of how exactly this will work, if enough people post and give me support to go ahead and attempt to make pictures then I will but if I get a bad response then I probably wont try, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m open to criticism btw but that doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t mean I wont not argue my point. Thanks for looking again and have a nice day. :)

i personally think this could be interesting.would probably add new armor & equipment (gi's & reinforced gloves for combat as an example).maybe make it a whole new skill!it would make for the ability to use things involving those kinds of combat (the hand to hand fighting, stealth, etc.) and add new possibilities.wouldnt boost combat, but certain levels in the combat skills (hp & prayer included!) would be needed to do some things, as well as noncombat skills (agility, herblore, & theiving to name a few).if you refine this, it could become quite magnificent!
