WoW specing?

Featured Replies

Ok, im having a bit of a problem. Im trying to go through and see what I want to spec in for WoW (Im a shaman). Now when i was horde, i found a lot of people liked shamans as healers, but now it seems that role is played down a lot on the alliance side. would it be better for me to spec more in elemental and a lot less in healing?

Also, discuss good specing strategies.

I was thinking of doing that. I wouldn't heal very well, but id be a damage machine.

Your Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you!

Here's a guide, follow my instructions:

Go to 1 ;)

1. I suppose you're not level 70 yet , since you play alliance. If yes, go to 2. If no, go to 8.

2. You need to get to 70 ASAP. If yes, go to 3. If no, go to 8.

3. To get XP you need to kill stuff, to kill stuff you need to do damage. If yes, go to 4. If no, go to 3. (I hope that by reading that enough times you will realise you need to kill stuff yourself to get XP at a good rate).

4. You like to use spells to kill stuff. If yes, go to 5a. If no, go to 5b.

5a. Spec Elemental, pick up all the +dmg gear you can find. Kill stuff, do quests, whatever, just get to 70 Go to 6.

5b. Spec Enhancement, pick up all the +agi, +str, +sta gear you can find. Kill stuff, do quests, whatever, just get to 70 Go to 6.

6. You want to raid. if true, go to 7a, if false, go to 7b.

7a. Respec restoration, pick some +healing gear up. Start raiding as a healbot. have fun.

7b. Stay Elemental/Enhancement and get good gear through arenas/bgs. Have fun.

8. Do what you like to do, you don't care about maximizing your gear :) Have fun

Hope it helps ;)

Elemental is really poor for grinding unless you have + damage gear, and i'm talking about at least +350.

This is the build I"m using:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 0000000000

However when I hit 70 I'm probaly going to spec this for PvP:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 0010000000

Just a small change (got rid of Shamanistic rage for Natures Swiftness, amazing talent for PvP.

Shamans are the offensive hybrids of WoW. We can heal, yes, but later game you will be laying down totems for people, dealing damage and perhaps spot healing if the main healer gets overwhelemed. You *can* main heal in instances if you got the gear for it (or if your resto spec) but you need good gear.

Oh, and, incase your dead set on going elemental I'd recomend this:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 5310200000

+ hit gear for casting is easy to find and you don't need much of it *at all*,. Also the last 2 talents in the elemental line SUCK for what they are.

Lightning Overlord doesn't proc near as much as you would think it does, most elem shamans might see it proc.. twice in a day? Totem of Wrath too is just a waste of a 41 point talent.

With this build you'll be a very viable PvP'er and you'll have enough healing to do well and you'll have an awsome ammount of +crit chance. (both from the resto line and the elemental line).

The enhancment stuff you had there was worthless to waste 7 points into because you want to be able to get natures swiftness. (which btw, will work for your chain lightning too.)

I really would recomend you spec enhancment for leveling, though.

Depends if you want a spec for leveling or for PvP...

How about this? Would the two handed thing be of any use? I want guardian totems though because it reduces the cooldown for the earthbinding totem by 2 seconds, and i use that totem alot in pvp.

- Guardian totems is a really useless talent. trust me on this one.

- 2H will do nothing for an elemental spec. You want your shield.

- Natures guidance >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> two hander and anything into enhancment.

Just take out the points in enhancment and put them into resto down to the natures guidance line.

Personally i like enhancement for grinding, gonna spec elemental/resto when raiding.

Used to play RS, not anymore. WoW pwns!
