Continued: The Furies: Heart of Flames

Fienrir's eyes glowed with rage. Drawing his blades, swiftly and soundless, they emited at glow of golden sparks. He crept closer to the villains, the one's whom sought out his blood, the one's whom wanted to kill he and his friends. Vincent walked closer, too, taking out a brutal broadsword, as its rusted edges were sticking with old broken [bleep]es, and shards of old diamonds glimmered on the tip of the blade. He also took hold of another blade attached to his back; Fienrir could not identify the type, though, only the red handle, decorated with emeralds and the silver hilt, also decorated with emeralds. The others, first Orion then the rest, wipped out rusted blades, too.

"Well, well...Fienrir." Vincent barked, his eyes glowing with the aura of revenge. "I see you are still thriving. Why bother? You'll die nevertheless. You and your 'disiples'."

"I'm not the one who's blood will be spilt upon a sacred place." Fienrir calmly said.

"No, you're right. Maybe your arrogant friend, Gil?" Gil tried to pull away in anger from Llia's grasp, but to no avail. "No? Than maybe all of you will die." Vincent's evil chuckle made Llia quake.

"Get out."

"What's the matter, Fienrir? You are one idiot of the flock if you think you can actually--" Vincent was instantaneously slashed, without warning, into the trees, blood from his cut splattering onto the ground, wirth a triumphant Fienrir grinning from ear to ear.

"Nice hit!" Gil broke free from Llia's grasp, eyes burning with excitment. "Kill him! Break his soul with the mighty force of your blade!" Gil then looked over to Orion, whom held a massive rusted broadsword and a massive flail. "And for you, I'll just have to slice you up into bite sized pieces--maybe even kill you."

Orion was not happy with the remark, getting ready for the battle. "The rest of you! Go with whom you are going to fight! Smash there heads in, make their blood pour onto the grounds of this sacred area! It's time to die!" Llia, now trembling and crying, slowly cried and crawled towards one of the trees. Fargu was full of excitment as well.

"May the best dwarf win!" He screamed aloud to Gil.

"Don't worry, you won't." Gil grinned, Fargu prepping for the battle.

"Boy's will be boy's." Mellisa declared, pulling out her bow and aiming it at Pandora, who's weapon of choice was a brutal looking [Caution: Jagex Rule Violation].

"Yup." Irenith took off her necklace, which grew into a large halberd. Efial did not speak, but pulled out his massive blade and rushed out into the fight without hesitation, striking one of the unknown warriors blades. After he went, they all went. After he struck, the all struck close behind. After the blades met with a frightening clash, the echoes could be heard in the ssacred wood. And with a blue blast, the blades that met fell, but they weren't the only one's, as each member of the furies--and each of the disiples fell to the ground. They all met power, but now, they were seperated into their own fights, there own segments of the woods. Now, it was their battle. Now, it was to live or let die. Now, it was time for a brutal fight.

Chapter 8: Flaming Blades, Mighty Warriors

With a leap up, Gil swiftly drew all of his daggers, each held in-between every gap of his hands, one held in his mouth, and two held in his hands for quick throwing. Orion was panting with rage, for Gil's strike was so quick and desisive it shattered his blade with one strike--although it did cost Gil one dagger. I guess it's the price to see him die, he thought.

"You are more powerful then I thought. But is your power enough to even shatter me? I wonder. I wonder, and the answer has already come to mind: no. So, prepare to die, Gil Colin Grahm, prepare to meet your destiny--"

"Shut up and fight." Gil sharply said, a grim smile eminating from him, striking a fear in Orion. "I've had enough of lectures for one day, thanks."

"Really? Well, then here you go!" He threw his flail, but as unexpected as it was, Gil dodged it with ease, still getting a slight cut on his arm. With great speed, he grabbed a hold of the chain of the flail and yanked it back, pulling Orion, but he was too heavy. Gil jumped away, the flail returning to it's master. Again, Orion threw it, but Gil negated the blow of the flail with a throw of a poison dagger, as it stuck out of Orions chest, it took toll on his life.

"You sunnava--"

"Your turn." Gil took the other dagger from his mouth, grinning from ear to ear.

Fienrir's massive bulk shook the mighty branch of the gold and silver fused tree, and although it shook only slightly, the immensity of the power urged Vincent to do a quick desisive attack in order to obliterate him immediatley, but that crumbled when Fienrir struck the sword out of Vincents palms, the rusted blade severing a nearby tree. In turn, Vincent landed on another nearby branch hard. By a sudden glance, Fienrir knew the pain Vincent was going through. Not just phisical pain, though, an emotional and mental pain that seemed to have been surging through his body. He wished he could help Vincent, his once true comrad and friend from long ago, but even he knew insane men like him should not live. He knew the men that should be let live, and whom to let die.

Despite the pain, Vincent rose from his location, which was not but a few branches from Fienrir's location, he gripped the blade that rested on his back. But when he drew it, to Fienrir's suprise, it was not just a blade; it was a platinum staff, as tall as he, plated lightly with gold and asended with silver. The designs of the staff were wrought from mythril, still colored gold, each design a dragon with a gemstone: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and a bright yellow diamond. At the very top of the staff, there sat two diamonds: a mighty, yet very strange and rare blood red diamond, and a clear white diamond, each glinting proudly and with a strange and powerful aura.

Fienrir recognized the staff. It was the staff of Gradigiur, which meant "Staff of Lux and Tenebris" in the old language. The staff was forged upon the mighty Nephthys mountains (which fell in the iron age) and blessed by Saradomin, but Zamorak caught hold of it and cursed it. It's balance is bizarre, and the blood diamond and the white diamond represent the power of it.

Despite the immense and balanced power of the staff, Fienrir was not frightened; he had to stop Vincent from whatever he was attempting to achieve, even if he doesn't know what that achievement is.

"I know," Vincent said, grinning with a violently sinister smile, "you fear the power of this staff. But who can blame you? I would quake in fear at the sight of it, too, if I had to look at it. But what could be more frightening than looking at it? I know, this!" With his last word, Vincent blasted Fienrir with a powerful blast of streaming fire, knoking him off the tree completely. As he fell, his rage grew, and as his rage grew, Vincent jumped at him with the blade-edge of the staff, laughing insanly.

Fargu now rose from the grounds where he was plown into, his breathing patterns strong and heavy, and the once cloaked man he had clashed with stood in Fargu's eyeview. The man's red, bloodshot eyes were tired and weak; his blonde hair was long and straight, down to his neck; and the weapon he wielded was a large and powerful [Caution: Jagex Rule Violation], the staff gold and the blade platinum. His other hand held the shattered blade, once rusted and dangerouss, now shattered and everywhere. To Fargu's advantage, while both he and his advisary rested on the ground to recover some energy, shards were stabbed into him. Because of these wounds, the man was hemmoraging, almost as if he was weeping blood, as it dripped down his black cloak.

"I must say," Fargu said proudly, "you were a bit cocky, but now look at ya! And if I can add, there is no power you have that can compare to a dwarf!"

The man only rose from the ground, tearing the shards from his inflcted skin, chuckling in an insane manner. "Dwarf, your arrogance is going to make your death all the sweeter."

Holding his hand over every flash wound, he wispered something to each wound. Fargu sighed in astonishment to realize what he was saying: Kruphta, in Zamorak, heal.

"No!" Fargu could only say, repeating it to himself over and again.

"Yes!" Said the man, healing the last wound, "Now, prepare to die!"

The man jumped at Fargu, slashing at him at extreme speeds, Fargu blocking the blows by a close call each time. But oe false move caused a slash into the ground, plowing Fargu deep into the sacred grounds.

"You fool!" The man laughed insanly. "To think you can take me on! You fool! And now, you must tell me. What's more frightening: Death in my hands, or standing your grounds against me?" Fargu, angry as he cluthced his axe, rose very slowly in anger.

****************

Fienrir was at the point to where he was shoveling down air as he fell. Vincents blow knocked his breathe away, not only taking him by suprise with the blow, but almost killing him. Blood began to arise from his throat; still, he swallowed air until the blood went down. I can't go out like this! Fienrir thought, now in control of his mind again, landing gracefully on the ground. Now with both blades drawn, he held them in his battle pose, jerking his head n every direction, turning to find Vincent. He jumped, for he then heard a boom. The others must have clashed blades...So it begins...Though they may have courage, will they be gallant enough to take them down?... Through his deep thinking, though, Vincent attacked him from behind, forcing Fienrir into a barrel roal to land on his feet, but Vincents swiftness negated the attempt at re-balancing himself each time, causing more pain and anger for Fienrir.

"Vaeli! " Vincent cried, as the staff emitted a strange, bright light, following an eruption of magma from the staff.

"Griuzu!" Fienrir retalliated, as a strong blue light glowed around the blade of his sword, finally erupting with a strong icey wind, thus negating the deadly attack. Although he knew what kind of damage he could inflict if he were strong, he was weak. Wait a minute, strong! Fienrir began to focus.

"Look at you. Helpless. What, are you praying? No use. It's time to meet your end!" He jumped, Fienrir still focused, though. Closer. Closer. Focusing. Focusing.

Irenith had a slight difficulty recovering from the fall she took; so did Mellisa, who, upon getting up, recognized the other being there. Relief wasn't the best thought in their minds, but they were at least happy they could duel with their enemies with ease. They did not choose to speak, instead they both nodded and began their search for their deadly enemies and battle. But wherever they looked, no search or sign of anything seemed to be in place. Finally, Mellisa spoke:

"Where could they be..." The gentleness and softness of her voice made a slight echoe upon the golden-silver trees. No where. They were no where at all. Yet the strange emptiness in the section of the forest they were located in struck fear in their hearts; the paradox before them was gone, their opponents gone from their sight. Yet, they kept their weapons out, just in case, for if they were to withdraw them, their throats could be easily hacked and choped apart in a flash of a bloody sword.

"They are here somewhere..." Irenith took of the halberd-pendent from her neck, and it expanded to a normal size. The sharp blade upon the end of the staff it was supported by reflected the golden and silver glints upon the trees. Glints? How can there be-- Mellisa's trail of though swiftly ended. A rusty sword struck her into the ground, cacking the dirt ground with blood. She yelped; thus, blood strated to come out from her sceaming mouth. Irenith, jumped to her defense. Quickly, she hacked and slashed at the cloaked figure, each attack dodged, each with no avail. Each attack parried, each attack causing sparks to fly from the clashing blades. Mellisa, whom writhed with great pain, slowly began to rise into action, her bow pointing at the blood she had just lost. And with a single pull of her bow, an arrow materialized, and she shot it, striking the figure hard into the ground. Irenith gracefully landed on her feet, her breathing long and relaxed.

The cloaked figure finally hit the ground, her hood tore off onto the ground. The black hair of the young woman was greasy, long, and curly. Mellisa materialized another arrow. The woman slowy rose her head. Her eyes were a amber color, and she had unimaginable beauty. Mellisa stopped. Her heart felt like it was stabbed, strangled, ripped to shreds. The battle they just had, quick as it may have been, made her hate the woman.

"I've heard who you are." Irenith said. "The angel of doom, darkness, destruction--"

"Pandora would be my name." She said happily.

A scowl developed upon Mellisa's face, her eyes tensing along with her body. Tears began to roll down her face, also, and one could not tell if it were rage or sadness.

"I would be glad if you would submit. You cannot win." Pandora chuckled slightly.

Mellisa's heart exploded with sadness, her mind released it's thoughts.

"Why, sister?"

****************

Efial was already battling. The only two not to be knocked with the explosion, Efial swung his blade quickly and desisevly at the man. The long, red hair of the man swung gently in the air after every parry. And yet, he was not tired; nor was he tired.

"Allow me to introduce myself," The man said, parrying sevenm blows from Efial along the way, "My name is Pyramus, if you will, Efial, stop trying to hurt me!" He threw his fist into Efial, who hit the ground hard. What speed!

"I'm only hitting you because I want you to die!" Efial jumped back up and swung his blade at Pyramus's head, whom parryed it with more unbelieveable speed. Pyramus then swung his sword into Efials, both getting entangled.

"Less talk," Pyramus said, pushing Efial back, "more fighting!" He jumped up into the air, striking his blade with great ease and speed, as if not trying. Retalliating, Efial hit Pyramus's rusted sword hard, cutting it in half. With a fast draw, Efial was struck into the ground again; now Pyramus hel a gargantuan two handed blade, wrought of many different tipes of metal. Efial shot up, now striking Pyramus's sword with ease, one slash after another seemed to stun him, each one making Pyramus smile more and more. Efial's rage grew; he hacked him at all sides, yet Pyramus stopped the blows easily enough. Now it was his turn. He jumped again, his blade shining brightly and nobily, as it sturck down into Efial's sword, plowing Efial's feet into the ground, disorienting him and causing his balance to be lost. I cannot lose!

He performed a mighty dodge, flying intot he air as Pyramus struck the heavy blade into the ground, not noticing Efial come down and stab him in the leg! With a scream of pain, he fell, but he swiftly regained momentum and started to swing hard. One swing. Two swings. Each Parryed by eachothers opposing blades. One hit, two hits. Each took the same amount of pain. One hack, final hack...

The blades collided again, imploding the middle of the forest.

Well, I'm posting to all of my fantastic readers out there...To say not only am I writing another story, and I apologize for this, but I am stopping this story. It's not going the way I like it...I'm actually re-writing it. So I'm keeping the prologue, because that will always be critical in the_corrupt...But I don't like how I'm writing it, so it's officially going under rehab to make it 100X better. However, to apologize to my readers by writing an apology isn't enough. So, tonight, my next great adventure will start, and I'm deticated to writing it until the end...It's only one story, three parts, then The_Corrupt will start again. So I want you to read a new story, one that I call The Dirge of Caduceus. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do writing. it. Another fantasy--not doctor related, not runescape related, but I created everything--and I hope all of you can welcome this new story into my collection of great works.

See ya tonight and the weekend... ::'

You know I'll be there, front row.

Also, Caduceas... is that a Greek myth, it sounds familiar but I just can't place it.

Heh, can't tell you...

But I will.

Caduceus is actually the sign of Hermes, the Greek messenger of the gods, but it has more meaning to it. It's also the sign of doctors. But you have the idea.

Being written tonight, so I'm awaiting then.

Ah! The serpent staff, with two snakes coiled around...

Also, did you know that the snakes were the pets of Ae...? most famous docter of Greek myth, and spoke to him about other illnesses and such, until Zeus killed that docter for bringing back the dead.
