does it effect if ur strenght is much higher than attac (attack = 40 str 20+ )

Woah! I don't think I understand what you said there...

If I understand you correctly, Attack just allows you to hit the highest you can with your Strength level more often.

yea but will it affect if u got higher strenght example:

att lvl 40

str lvl 40

u hit max hit is 12

so u hit more 12

but if u got

att 40

str 60

u max hit is 18

will u hit more 18 or 12

i hope u understand

You won't know exactly how often you will hit your max. All I can say is the higher your attack, the more often you will hit your highest.

I don't think it really depends on your strength level.

I don't really know how to explain what you want to hear. There is just one fact you need to know.

The higher your attack, the more often you will hit critically.

Yes, the Attack skill allows you to weild better weapons and hit critically more often.

Now where did you get this? I'm not necessarily doubting you, but from what I read in the Knowledgebase:

Attack will determine your accuracy when fighting and will increase your consistency when hitting opponents... Having a higher attack level not only means you will hit the opponent more often, but it will also enable you able to train with stronger/better weapons.

I read nothing about being able to "hit critically" (and what that means here in RS).

The way I was using "critically" is saying that you it higher numbers more often. Even though the Knowlede Base doesn't say that, from my experience, I can say that it is true.

A good Attack level allows you to hit often. The higher your Attack, the more often you can hit near your max.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there, attack only affects your accuracy. If you kept track of all your high hits and low hits you probably wouldn't find a statistically significant difference, or you're just really lucky. But it would be wrong to say that a higher attack will definitely allow you to hit near your max hit more often.

According to what Jagex says publicly, Attack level (and bonuses) determine your ability to hit an opponent.

Stength level (and bonuses) determines damage

High attack does not at all increase your maximum damage, nor how often you will hit higher.

High strength does not at all affect the frequency with which you hit an opponent.
