If you're running Windows, you should find a "Prnt Scrn" button near the north-west area of your keyboard, regardless of whether or not you're using a laptop (I am, as well). When you hit that key, the entire screen is captured and copied. Open a photo application (MSPaint, for example) and paste (ctrl-v). Then if you're using Paint, you should see that the top-right corner has a dashed rectangular box. Click it once, then drag the area of the picture you want to keep. Drag it to the top left corner of the page, then shrink the page to just that picture you want. Save, upload it, and you can use it. I hope that makes sense.

Paste it into MS Paint:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Paint

 

 

 

-or-

 

 

 

Start -> Run -> mspaint[Caution: ExecutableFile]

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Taking the Picture

 

 

 

Use the Print Screen key just above and to the right of the backsace key, or to the right of the F12 key.

 

 

 

Open up an image editing program, such as MSPaint

 

 

 

Paste your image.

 

 

 

Crop your image.

 

 

 

Save your file as a .PNG

Uploading

 

 

 

Go to Image Shack

 

 

 

Push the Browse... button

 

 

 

Select the File to upload and hit Open

 

 

 

Hit the "Host It!" Button

 

 

 

Copy and Paste "Hotlink for Forums (1)" into your post/signature

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Getting to Your Signature

 

 

 

Go to your profile
