Fable: The Lost Chapters [SORTED] Mods please close

Ok, last night I installed fable the lost chapters, played it for a few hours exited the game (I used the in game exit/quit options) and shutdown my pc.

 

 

 

PS. I brought this game is not a copy.

 

 

 

This morning I turned my pc on tryed to load up fable and got a error message stating fable did exit correctly.

 

 

 

It offered me to play in safe mode or normally I tried normally and it loaded the first three intro videos then crashed. I then tried agian in safe mode, still no luck.

 

 

 

Then I searched microsoft they reccommend I created a new profile and try again, I tried this and it crashed agian both in safe mode and normally.

 

 

 

I've been on the sapphiretech forums and asked them, they stat the GPU is getting too hot although it plays other games and the temp has yet to reach above 70C

 

 

 

I googled the probelm and have so far tried the following;

 

 

 

*Updated Bios

 

 

 

*Updated Video driver

 

 

 

*Updated CPU driver

 

 

 

*Renaming the video folder to video1, which makes it crash straight away (ie no intro videos)

 

 

 

*Changing the mode in which it loads 2000, no visual effects, low res.

 

 

 

*Disabling sound

 

 

 

*Multiple reboots

 

 

 

*Improving air flow to the GPU, CPU, MoBo and removing any dust.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I can load up any other modern game with no trouble but for some reason fable doesnt want to work.

 

 

 

The specs which count are;

 

 

 

AMD X2 3800+

 

 

 

ASUS M2N-E

 

 

 

Corsair 1gb Value Select DDR2 (667)

 

 

 

Sapphire X1950Pro

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Any help would be great.

 

 

 

Ps the time I spent on this game was amazing and I would really like to play it some more.

The error usually means that a save file got corrupted somehow. Have you tried reinstalling fable? Don't do it if you are far at all because I most likely am wrong.

Yeah its a great game i gotta say try reinstaling it. may work

I found out it a setting on the ATI Catalyst which was causing the trouble (not sure which one).

 

 

 

After all the updates and tests revertting the setting on ATI Catalyst seems to have sorted it out.

 

 

 

Although if I hadnt tried it I would have gone with a reinstall.
