When can I start making profit from smithing in F2P?

You cant really make much of a profit. Most of the big money is lost in mineing im not sure of the prices but if a rune bar is 14k and a plate is 65k is 13k per bar thats 5k for each plate. So not a huge amount but correct me if im wrong.

you can make profit, if you have atleast 30+ smithing, theres a few companys that will trade you 1 iron ore and 2 coal ore with 100 gp, so thats 100k every 1k steel bars you make.

This is a useful thing for me:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- Buy a bunch of coal for 170-200 each

 

 

 

- Buy half the amount of coal you bought of iron for 100 each or less

 

 

 

- Smelt into steel bars

 

 

 

- Sell bars for 500-600 each

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You get less experience 'cuz smelting is crap experience. Sometimes it's profitable if you smith them into steel nails and find a member buying nails for like 30 each. Just stick to selling steel bars for 500-600 i'd suggest and do it in big bulk amounts like 2-3k steel bars.

You make a profit anytime you mine and smith the stuff yourself, and then you sell it or alch it (Alching as long as its over 300gp per alch).

Use tip.it's high alchemy calculator (nats are about 330 each at the most, so anything above 330gp will get you profit)
