For the thieving part, if you have access to rogues den shop, you should get like 100 lockpicks (Or alternatively just a full inventory, but if you won't make it in 1 trip, you have to go back). Not too hard with world jumping and RD shop.

 

 

 

And trust me, the chest is a pain in the butt, only some people get lucky.
