Pros & Cons: Melee Advice

Okay, I'd like to know the Pros & Cons of certain ideas I've thought about:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2-handed VS 1-handed with Shield

 

 

 

Well, obviously carrying around a 2-handed weapon will allow loads more damage to be dealt. However, having the option of a shield will better your defences. In the long run of battles, which is the smarter choice?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dragon 2-hander VS Dharok's GreatAxe

 

 

 

Which can cast the better damage? The only major downfall with the GreatAxe is the repairing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rune Defender VS Dragon Square VS Obby Shield

 

 

 

Which one outranks the others?

1 handed with shield all the way unless your using barrows.

Don't touch a D2H. Go for a whip instead or even a Great Axe

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rune Defender VS Dragon Square VS Obby Shield

 

 

 

Depends. Rune Defender is if you need good attack bonus. D Square is an expensive, but high quality defense item. Obby shield is a cheaper option with a strength bonus. Personally I'd go, Rune Def, D sq, Obby shield.

The answer to this depends on your combat level in relation to your opponents, and what fighting style the opponent use.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In most cases defender is best choice, since it increase your offensive bonuses and allows you to kill faster.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If your opponent use range and does some damage on you, obby shield would be better since it has good range defence, but still give you some strenght bonus.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If your opponent use melee and hurt you, you may want to use a normal shield for it's melee defence - or obby shield for its strenght bonus.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In addition to that: if you fight and use protection prayers (no matter what protection prayers) Zammy book is best choice since it has offensive bonus and prayer bonus.
