He probably told you he's going to quit and you have to trade him somewhere close to the wildy. Like the monastry, the pub north east of varrock or the black knight fortress or just east of the bridge at edgeville. Then he'll run into the wild where his friend is waiting for you. He'll either bind you with mage or use ancient spells on you so you can't move anymore and then he'll kill you. And they'll have your money. DO NOT trade him. When someone is "selling" a whip for 600k it is not for real. And he/she will try to get you killed with your money.
