Jagex's Definition of Combat...Bug?

Featured Replies

I don't know if this is a bug, but it is very annoying...

When I am training a pure of mine in giants, there is a lot of competition at the spawns, obviously: It is a great amount of money for the food you use.

Since the giants are agressive, they often whack at you quickly after they spawn. However, this does not count as being in combat: if another player whacks the giant before you do (Note that you are doing the flinch movement so unless you atk at the same time you can't atk it for a sec), they get to fight it.

So the giant can hit a four on you (Half of a trout...) but someone else gets it.

I think this should be fixed so that it takes a second after the creature spawns to attack, and in this time everyone can attack it: but as soon as the creature attacks a player it becomes 'their' giant. This way it wouldn't be unfair to higher levels or people who have been their long enough that the giants don't attack, but if it did attack you you would be in combat with them.

Perhaps we could also fix this so that someone can't deal damage on you and then be pjed (Rangemage, cough) in the wild, which is a related problem.

Opinions, suggestions?
