March 5, 200719 yr Do you mean cropping the image? Removing parts of the image to make it smalled without actually scaling it down? If you post the image, the size you want it and the area you want to be kept someone here can most likely crop it and re-upload it for you if you ask nicely. :P

March 5, 200719 yr Upload to http://www.imageshack.us it will automatically change to a jpeg/png (I forget which one), copy the URL to the image and paste it into the "Direct link to image" or something in the avatar options. You can also open it in paint and save it as a jpeg:
