Hello Animorph2, I have added the three characters you mentioned, and they will be processed tonight. You should be able to see them on the hiscores in roughly 9 and a half hours (8pm EST). Yes, it was. I have fixed the problem, and will be sure to prevent anybody from uploading anything in the future. Turns out that the "hackers" (more like script kiddies) used an open upload form elsewhere on my site to upload a number of config files, including a script to give them FTP privileges. Don't worry: no one's information was stolen or anything like that, the script kiddies just used an automated script to replace the "index.php" file on my domain. Every internal page and database row were untouched. As far as a fix is concerned, it was as simple as removing the vulnerabilities and uploading a backup copy of the index file. Thank you for finding this issue, though.

I think, for now, my best solution is to change hosts. I'm looking for new ones, but it will take a few days. The thing I have in the backgrounds is basically me doing it on my localhost at home manually, and then uploading the data to my public server each night. This isn't pretty, and I know it's not going to be very helpful for anyone, but it's the best option I have at the moment. Anybody know of good web hosts for cheap? haha @essiw: how would I do this from a shared host?

Even just running a simple "file_get_contents" doesn't work, so I'm not sure adding a pause would help. It times out after 120 seconds regardless. If you could create a script that doesn't target that page, then I'd be all for it. I'll post the script I'm currently using to parse the hiscores just so we can go back and forth on the best way to do things. I want my script to be efficient and easy, so I think open-sourcing it would be the best way to do that. I contacted Jagex's web team via Twitter and they said that, if I were IP banned, I would be getting a 404 response instead of the timeout I'm getting now. My host says nothing is wrong on their end. As it's only the one file I can't get from Runescape's server, I'm also very confused. I've never worked with Google DNS, but I'm not sure if that would help; it sounds like it would just be another IP for my server to use, but since Jagex says I'm not IP blocked, I don't know. By the way: I can get the file using the same script on another server, so I know it has to be either Jagex or my host. This is frustrating beyond belief, and I really am sorry for the problems that it causes you guys. I will try to find a new host and see if they have better luck with stability. Unfortunately, no. My server is unable to access the page at all, let alone get to parse it. I believe a change of server is the only thing that can fix. I have a plan to use the regular hiscores, but that would require heavy lifting on my server's part, and is obviously not ideal. Until I find something better, or get some help from the web team at Jagex, then nothing can be done. I don't want to have to switch hosts every time something goes wrong.

There would seem to be - if you look at other users they have the same issue. :( Unfortunately, this is the case. My server has been unable to get information from the "lite" version of the hiscores for some time now. I tried keeping up with it manually, but it was far too difficult with other things cropping up at the same time. Please know that I am actively working on fixing this problem, and will manually update as many days as I can/are needed until this gets fixed. I was working on a redesign, but that redesign is looking to be pushed back because of these problems. I'm sorry, guys! I'll try to keep everyone updated on the situation as soon as I hear anything else.

Your script doesn't like me! It actually wasn't looking for you because you were already added, but you went off the hiscores for some reason, or it couldn't fetch your hiscores from Jagex. I have corrected the issue, and you should start showing up again. Sorry for that.

My hiscores currently update at 8pm EST every night. As such, if you aren't logged out by 8pm EST, the stats won't be updated on Jagex's official hiscores, and thus, my hiscores won't be able to see your updated information. As you'll note today, though, that problem was fixed when the system went through its nightly update. You are now correctly listed as having 82 Ranged, and 98 Mining. Again, just be sure to log out of the game real quick before 8pm EST or your stats won't be accurately reflected until the next update at 8pm EST the following day. @Brother Mind - Your name has been added, and will appear in tonight's update at 8pm EST, in roughly 19 and a half hours. Please keep a lookout for it then, and let me know if there are any further problems. Thank you.

For my list, the only real requirements are: You appear on the official hiscores No member skill either visible on the hiscores or above level 5 (whichever happens last) Must currently not be a memberAs long as you fit that profile, you can be on the F2PHiscores.com list. Right now there's an artificial limit, just because I haven't used the script I have to go through a hundred thousand hiscore pages to scrape for every single F2P player, but I have scrapped through roughly 15,000 pages of the hiscores to get the top 450. If your name isn't on there yet, it's probably because I haven't taken the time to add you. It's nothing personal, just that you haven't been detected by my scripts. Let me know your username and I will manually add your name to the list. Once I add you to the list, your name will appear at approximately 8pm EST that day (or the next day if your name was added after the 8pm update). I actually have to get around to adding my own F2P character, Lt Wolfe, to it haha.

Update: Everything is now fixed! We lost a couple days of data, but we have everything up until August 11th, and then again today. Everything looks to be going swimmingly, so there shouldn't be a problem there. The scripts are working perfectly, and are doing everything exactly as they should. Please note that this was a little hiccup and my host and I are working hard to ensure this doesn't happen again. I want to make sure that the site is stable and reliable above everything else. Once again, I apologize for the downtime, and certainly hope no one was too inconveniences.

New URL! - http://www.f2phiscores.com Today I purchased a new URL, www.f2phiscores.com, and have redirected the site there. Until further notice, the old URL will also work just fine, though I'm going to redirect to the new site once things are confirmed to be stable. With the new URL comes a new subreddit for the site. From now on, the official boards for my specific site, and really the boards I'd love to open up to all members of the pure F2P community on Reddit, is: /r/f2phiscores. With this push, I've also fixed a few bugs on the daily XP gains list, and the 200m page. I'm going to be redoing the way I scrape the hiscores to both improve performance, reliability, and timeliness. Until then, all updates go out at 8pm EST, and the countdown on the site now reflects that properly. Be sure to log out of the game before that time if you're currently playing, or your stats might not make it up for that day (they will still be recorded for the next day, though, so don't worry). I figured this gives a better representation of what people actually do each day, instead of the previous method. Yeah, I'm having difficulties with my automation script. At first it turned out that it was running 3 loops of calculations on the data I'd collected, because I was doing it in two steps (get data from hiscores, then calculate gains and ranks and the like), but now it's just going haywire, so I'm disabling the automation and going back to manual for the time being. Ugh lol

Thank you for pointing those out, Ruli. I'll be doing a crawl tonight of the hiscores to solve some of those problems. I haven't done it in a long while, and it's shown. It's another process that I need to get automated. Do you have your updater automated now that you've moved to a paid host?

Individual skill hiscores - click on a skill icon on the homepage and see how you rank amongst others in any specific skill. You can also sort by level or by XP! 200,000,000 XP List - shows, in one place, every player that has 200,000,000 XP in each skill. Historical graphs for each user! We got to see Meneer hit 200m XP in Defense last month. With this feature, we can see history happen right in front of our eyes! Please let me know what you guys think of it. This still keeps a minimalistic theme so everything is still super easy to use.

This could easily be done, and I'll look into adding it as an option, but the question then becomes, "should we?" There are two sides of the argument: 1) the F2P hiscores should be about content available to F2P, which includes levels 1-5 in every single skill. 2) We should only include skills that can be maxed out with F2P. The 1-5 skills are just trials, and shouldn't be considered true F2P skills. I'm not sure which argument I'm siding with just yet, but I will at least look into having this as an option, if not the default. Let me know what you guys think, so we can start a debate on this topic. It's interesting, at the very least, and could shape the way this community moves forward.

I've been talking with Lord Slayas in the background, and we're working together to make sure this list stays up to date and in as good of condition as it was left in. I'm working to add features and names to the list. Right now, we're up to 197 and climbing. I've already implemented some great changes, and I think everyone is going to love this list a lot. With some automation, and plenty of care, this list will be a shining example for years to come. If you do not see your name on the list, or you see someone on it that shouldn't be, please send me a PM, and I'll get the problem fixed.

I only see a top 9? :P There was a bug with the script that was showing P2P players. I have redone the script, and it will now include only those that meet the following requirements: No member skill either visible on the hiscores or above level 5 (whichever happens last)A minimum of 85m XP (level 90 or above in every F2P skill)Must currently not be a memberBreaking any of these rules will result in either your character not being added to the list, or being removed from the list (in the event of a person becoming P2P or gaining a visible level in a member skill). I am currently combing through the hiscores right now to repopulate the list, but initial trials of the script tell me that it's working as intended. Please, if any of you see a person on here that shouldn't be on here, let me know. I will remove that person from the list permanently. I cannot guarantee that this list is 100% perfect, nor 100% foolproof, so it will be on the public to notify me of any problems with it. If you don't see yourself on the list, and believe you should be, please let me know and I will manually add you. http://www.f2phiscores.com New top list. I currently have the top 44 players with more than 200,000,000 XP, and am working to refine the script to weed out members. If you notice a member on the list, please PM me and I will remove them from the list. This list can be updated every day, as it's a crawling script that scrapes the hiscores and puts the results in a database. Let me know if there are any problems with it.
